Emotional Breakdown
Oh, you are right on schedule!! And totally normal. A lot of us have gone through rough emotional meltdowns for the few months after surgery. IT WILL PASS. But if you think about it, it makes sense, doesn't it? I mean, you've spent all these years covering up all your feelings with food or drugs, so now that you can't eat as much all those feelings are coming out and you don't know what to do with them... Or some variation of that... And, your hormones are out of whack. I cried several times a day, nearly every day for about 2-3 months after surgery. I would be elated, and then crushed. Optimistic, then pissed off. I drove my husband insane because I needed him but kept blaming him for things. It was like having my period x10000. I think it's great that you threw the food away, but I hope you understand that you will still lose weight if you eat it sometimes. I have a burrito or quesadilla at least once a week and I'm down nearly 50lbs since April. Just try to be kind to yourself. Pretend it's your best friend and not you, and treat yourself as you'd treat her. Sasha

Had Surgery Today... Is This Normal?
call now... this is not normal, and could be a sign of a heart attack...

Cough. Cough Cough!
MUCINEX expectorant—take the largest dose you can, as often as it says to until your surgery. It will break up your chest congestion and will help you cough anything up you need to. Don't get the cough suppressant though.

Has Anyone Experienced This Type Of Pain?
it's possible that it's gas... I would try taking some gas-x to see if the pain goes away. If it does, voila!

Question!!!
Oh oh oh!!! I'm reminded that suddenly coughing at night and reflux can be a sign of a slip... Hopefully nothing, I'd go to your doc and get it checked out, just in case...

Gas Problem & "throwing Up" Burps?
This was the first time I've thrown up gas (second time throwing up anything) and the band is not too tight... I can pretty much eat anything, seldom get stuck and I opted to only get a teeeeeny fill last time because I'm going on vacation soon and don't want to get stuck while i'm away... And in fact, I even had an upper GI done about a week ago because of this... She said the band is perfect, the fluid flew down with no problem, and in fact, there's not even a pouch I'm open so wide... But she did see an unusual amount of gas, and said that some people just swallow more air than other people...

Got Stuck Tonight-Again
Hi Donna, you were banded a few months after me and I only two weeks ago finally got up to 4.5cc... It's really possible that your body is swollen inside, and that the opening in YOUR 4.5cc band is much tighter than someone else's 4.5cc... Based on this post, and another one you made a few days ago, it really sounds like you're too tight... DEFINITELY don't get another fill, if anything I'd get .25cc taken out...

Question!!!
I haven't had this, but I hear that coughing at night might be reflux and/or your band too tight... Do you take reflux meds?

Gas Problem & "throwing Up" Burps?
I'm going crazy with the gas. It's not just the burping, which I can handle, but it's the pain. My stomach gets distended, like a rock, and the band hurts! Last night, after pacing in the living room for 1/2 hour at 2am (yes, I woke up because it was hurting) my mouth filled with saliva and ran to the bathroom to throw up... Pretty immediately I did throw up, but not liquid or food -- I threw up the biggest burp you've ever heard. THREE times I threw up, each time just huge, tortured burps. I felt better immediately and then went back to sleep... Has anyone else experienced this?? I'm 4 months post-surgery, so this is NOT a recovery issue. But I'm a little at my wits end and need to find some way to lessen the pain. I'm living on TUMS at the moment... Help!

Nsv Youre Most Looking Forward To?!
For me, it's when someday I will go to bed without my left side being cold... Cause my husband falls asleep on top of the covers ALL THE TIME and what's left of the blanket doesn't totally comer me!

My Band Doesn't Work Like It Used To...

I recently fit back into my engagement ring after 4.5yrs... It's the best!!!- Avon Cancer.walk June 2013 Chicago
That sounds fun. I may do the one in NYC- In Mourning
right there with you. I LIKE to eat a lot!!!- Got Stuck Again
You might consider asking to have a bit of fluid removed from your band if you're that tight... You can still lose weight without being so tight you can't tolerate regular food.- Trapped Air?
Hate to say it, but I'm 4 months out and still having major gas problems. I burp constantly (it's so lovely!) and just now had to eat 4 Tums because my stomach was distended and aching with gas pains...- Decisions, Decisions
Last week I went insane. I guess because i had my period, but quite simply i lost my mind and ate a whole bag of popcorn (slider-city for me!!) as well as 2 snickers and Mexican food (chips!) twice and drank whiskey at least 3 nights... Somehow miraculously I still lost 4lbs in the last 2 weeks. Don't get me wrong, you simply cannot do that on a regular basis and still lose weight. But you can still be human, and you can still have insanity. And if you're good for the most part, you will lose weight. (for the record I do still have chocolate sometimes, but I don't seem to really want it or need it anymore. In fact, other than last week, I can't remember the last time I had some, and I have a 4yo daughter!) (oh wait, not true, I got attacked by a bag of Hershey's chocolate chips not too long ago when my daughter wanted to make chocolate covered strawberries. Note to self, if you keep an "extra" bag of Hershey's chocolate chips in the house "just in case", at least acknowledge that it's just in case you want to eat it, not just in case you want to bake...) - What Kind Of Job Do You Have?
