Here goes I got banded on 12/29/2011 and I'm only down 30 pounds. I have had two fills and dont feel much restriction. i joined my fitness pal about two months ago to track my calories and I havent gone over 1200 in any given day, some days I dont even consume 1000 cals. I started working out at home in the beginning but now for the past month I have been at the gym 3-4 times a weeks doing at least 1 hour of cardio. i am not sure if I am expecring too much too sson, but the scale has'nt moved in three weeks, im bouncing around between 205 and 203, just cant see ro get under that two point mark....

Anyone out there in my situation please talk to me!!!! All banders welcomed in........

Hi. I was banded 12/8/2010 and I'm only down 59 lbs........

You've not been banded 3 months, so you're losing on average at least 2 lbs a week. If you ask me, that's great weight loss. I'm not sure what you were expecting, but I'd be tickled pink if that were me!

As Andrea says, you've lost 30 lbs in three months. That's great!

I understand your frustration...Even tho I haven't got the band yet (I go in tomorrow WOO HOO) I've been on the pre op diet for 2 weeks perfectly and haven't lost a pound. So frustrating...But if the other banders are saying your doing good, then you must be. I'd be like you and think it wasn't coming off fast enough because I'm super impatient. But now I know reading these posts that 30 lbs in 3 months is good...Good luck you doing fine, keep up the good work!! :)

You are way over the average in pounds lost. Be happy. The scale cannot and will not go down every single day!!

I was also banded 12-29-11 and I'm only down 11 pounds. I'm very frustrated but I'm not having to lose much. My thing is just making the right food choices.

Try a laxative, let me know if it works.

I laughed about the laxative. I think almost every bander can say they've had a touch of the Constipation along the way.. I said to my friend at the gym the other day... "It' truly is a sad situation when having a formed bowel movement becomes the highlight of one's day. " But I certainly relate. I think sometimes our bodies just hold on to what we eat... until we win the power stuggle.. Be patient, do what you're doing... and the scale will finally show your effort.

Banded February 9, 2012... Down 25 pounds just plain old dieting with no restriction in the band... can hardly wait to know what a fill feels like.. so far I can eat just about anything I want to and it all goes down just like any other day pre-band. I have a scar on my tummy and a port I can feel.. .but I haven't had a lick of help yet from this procedure.... but there is no other choice than to wait this out.. so I am patient.. patient to get some help from this band, to see the scale move downwards.. and yes to have a formed BM.

I feel your pain, but to me you are doing great, I would love to see 30 lb weight loss in 3 months, I was seen in december of 2010 and was 272, I had to go to my primary dr for 6 months with supervised diet which I did and got down to 254 in august of 2011, I did preop diet for one week and lost 5 lbs putting me at 249 day of my surgery which was aug. 31 2011, thats 6 1/2 months ago and I am down to 229. I cant seem to budge, I eat so much less than i did before but nothing seems to happen. one week i weigh 229, then i weigh 233 then back down to 230 then to 229 its like a yo yo. I have had 4 fills with a total of 6 cc in my band and i have restriction. I dont pb much and I dont eat much but something is not working for me. it is hard to read these post and blogs sometimes and see the ones that have lost 80 lbs in 4 months, I know we are not suppose to compare ourselves but it makes me sad sometimes. guess we should be happy with the weight loss we have and not worry about what we havent lost yet. good luck

OK, here's want happened to me this week. Last Friday I got my third fill. Since surgery have had no restriction and could pretty much eat whatever I wanted but usually only about 1/2 of what I used to do. First 48 hrs after fill, still didn't feel any different. Then Monday evening, something felt different. On Tuesday, I noticed that after a few bites, it felt like my meal was starting to back up in my esophagus. I stopped eating and hours went buy and the feeling of over fullness dissapated but I wasn't hungry for hours. This morning, I decided to try a Protein Shake and I guess I blended up alot of ice (it was thick like a milkshake) and it took me a good half hour just to drink it. I texted someone from my support group and shared what I was feeling and she said that was restriction and my "soft sign" to stop eating. I guess I was waiting and analyzing my feelings so long that I got there and didn't realize it at first. I was so excited and have been very careful today with what and how much I ate. I am so anxious to see if it moves me past that "plateau" you are all talking about. I got a 1 cc fill which brought me up to 4.5 cc.

You are doing good. Some people lose slower than others. Could be foods you eat, meds, age, activity level we are all different. Remember you are moving down instead of up on the scale. YOU CAN DO IT JUST HANG IN THERE!!!

It works differently for everyone. You will not know until you have the band. I am doing well 9 months and down 110 pounds with no fills, but I work out about 2 hours a day, but that will not work for everyone.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
