Diva817 got a reaction from angbutler0712 in So This Is Bandster Hell...
I am four weeks out ofnsurgery and this Thursday it will be five so I am where you are not. I haven't been counting any calories. My hunger is a stomach growl and not in the head trust me so when I am I eat or drink a shake. A day for me is oatmeal, yougart, soup, fruit and for dinner lately a small salad or chicken salad and if I'm still hungry sugar free jello. I know the difference between head hunger and my stomach taking to me so I just say eat when you are hungry and make it protein as it will keep you full longer.
Good luck and wishing you much success!

Hello fellow bandsters - I was banded on 11/9/11, so I'm 3 weeks out today and feel fabulous. If you have an experienced surgeon, you have very little to worry about. I did not have near the pain I was so afraid of, tho I did get some pretty severe shoulder pain from the air they use for a couple of days. I started at 267 and am now 241 in a little over 5 weeks. I'm stuck at this weight for about the last week, but they tell me this is pretty typical until your first fill or two (mine is 12/13). Over the last week, I've been walking two miles a day and have had zero pain since about a week and a half out. My doc doesn't put anything in the band when he implants it, so I'm able to eat more things than they told me I would be able to, and more than they told me, which is where I am now - trying hard to remember why I've done all this. Follow your doctor's orders, if you have a family to feed, make sure your freezer is stocked, and allow yourself at least a week to get your bearings. This has been a walk in the park compared to what I had envisioned beforehand - but I'm also very committed to this new lifestyle. AND PRAYER HELPS IMMENSELY. Blessings to you and your journey .
