i was banded the 13th of February and the shoulder pain was killer. Lasted about 4 days. Did the whole gas X and walking thing but what helped me the most was the heating pad. After about 6 days felt almost 100% back to normal. It gets much much better. Congrats to you all on the start of your new life.

I agree the heating pad works so good I recommend anyone that is having the lapband to have one ready for when you get home.

I actually had an electric blanket that i lay across the bed and slept on top of it so the heat was constant. lol

So today is March 16th now I am 3days post op wow can't believe I actually am post op now. Well yesterday I had to get out of the house and out of my bed I was so frustrated with being stuck at home so I told my hubby let's go get some groceries, and of course I can't walk around that well so I was pushed in the wheelchair while we where there. I didn't care where I went I just wanted out of my room. I actually did okay even though I was only two days post op I was really tired when we got home so by the time I showered I was ready for bed. I am sore but this morning I woke up its not so bad a lot better today. I think my incisions are healing fine I feel very tight all around the ab area which I think its the incisions pulling together as they heal. Last night I got the hiccups OMG that was not fun thank goddness they did not last long cause that really hurts. So my recovery is coming around and that's good cause by Monday I have to be back at work thanks to my great co workers who picked up some of my days I got a whole week off. Okay guys just wanted to let you all know how things are going. Oh by the way I have not lost any weight could that be because I'm swollen from the surgery? I have at the most only been able to drink 3-4 oz of shake throught the whole day. And maybe 1/2 a sf Jello.< /p>

I was also banded on the 13th and have lost about 5 more lbs since getting banded but dropped 17 before the surgery so I think my body is getting used to losing weight now . But Im back on Protein Shakes and I have about 3 to 4 a day and some sf Jello and if I drink the shakes slow they go down fine . My doc wants me to get 60 gr of protien a day! Maybe you should increase the shakes and you will start to lose. Everyones body is different and I'm sure you will start to see results soon !

I am gonna try and get more of the protien shakes down I have just haven't been able to lately maybe I should just take more time with them. About how long does it take for you to drink 1, and how much are you drinking at one sitting? I did lose 11lbs before surgery I just have lost anything since the sugery.

It's usually takes me about 30 min to drink a shake which my doc told me was normal and I take babysips! It's about 8 oz per shake. I try and drink them like I would eat a meal!

So you are able to drink shakes right now? No clear liquid diet for you?

The doctor wants me to have 2oz 3x daily but I can only get 1 1/2 oz if I'm lucky and half of a sf Jello.< /p>

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
