Wanna Come To My Pity Party? :)

Recommended Posts

I just need to vent this morning. Usually I am pretty positive about things, but this morning I can't help my pathetic pity party. Beware!

I started this whole journey to get healthy and to give my son a sibling. I lost a lot of weight still losing...Everyone kept telling me be careful while you are losing you could get pregnant right away. Well, not the case for me. We still can't get pregnant. It is so frustrating. i'm eating healthy, taking Vitamins, exercising. I know i need to give it more time but I am just so tired of everything being difficult. I feel like I have to fight and struggle for everything in my life. It is just not fair and I am tired of it!!!

We went to see a fertility doctor this week. Tomorrow I go for an HSG test to see if my tubes are clear. I am so worried about this. I am just an emotional wreck and needed to vent and complain this morning. Please, please don't comment "at least you have one". I know I am incredibly lucky to have my son but it does not diminish the feelings I have.

Anyone ever have the HSG test done before? How long after you lost the bulk of your excess weight did you get pregnant?

Hi Tracie,

Infertility is definitely something I know about. It took me 4 years to get pregnant with my first daughter.....and i was skinney then. There is NOTHING anyone can say to make it better. It isn't fair!!! I looked around and saw all these horrible parents smacking their kids and yelling at them...but yet I couldn't have one. I had one pregnant family member (who didn't know my situation say, that if baby wasn't a boy she would abort it!! ---It just isn't fair. BUT, now that a have my children...3 of them!!! I joking tell people that hindsight is 20/20.....God KNEW the children that he had picked out for me to love and raise and He KNEW I wasn't ready for them. So He gave me a few extra years to mature. In hindsight, I am glad that a had that extra couple years. I know you can't see it, but just trust that there is a reason that it isn't time yet....maybe its a health reason, or something else. Just focus on loving your son. It will happen. If you conceived once, you surely can do it again......just have fun practicing!!

Hi Tracie!!

I lived the fertility world for 3 years!! I have been through it all. I would be more than happy to answer any questions you have. Do you want to give me your e-mail so we aren't doing it so publicly, or are you fine to do it here? :) I'm not sure there is any pain worse, than that of not being able to conceive a child. Hang in there. I'm heading out to a movie in a few, but will check back later this afternoon!

Thanks ladies! I appreciate the support! I'm feeling much more optimistic this morning. Going for my HSG at 12pm today! Wish me luck!

Another factor is you are stressing out so bad that your body is having its own little panic attack. It doesn't know why you are freaking out but it's going on self preservation mode and hindering your progress. Don't forget to take the time to take care of yourself and be with the family you already have and the rest will take care of itself.

P.S. my son was 6 years in the making and he is well worth it. He is now 3.

I know stress has a lot to do with it. Believe me I enjoy my son and husband to the fullest! I was just trying to get out some frustrations here so they didn't drive me crazy in my head. I'm just going to keep at it and hope it all works out the way it is supposed to...whatever that may be!! Have a great day!!

Number 1 DO NOT STRESS!! I agree with one of the other posters, sometimes God has plans we dont and cant understand. I was on that long painful, tearful road for 17 years. Dr's couldnt give me ANY reason I could not get pregnant. Their suggestions were lose 15 lbs. Ok I lost 25. Was tested, retested and tested again. Nothing. Yes for me the band was instrumental in getting pregnant. 18 months and BAM! Sometimes when you lose a significant amount of weight in a short time, the hormones that your body produces by fat burning can work against you. Fat loss produces estrogen. I truly believe I got pregnant was because my weight hit a huge plateau and I was on birth control, and 2 weeks after I stopped... well you get the point. I was taking a progesterone only pill so I think that helped balance me out. I honestly believe when the time is right it will happen. I blame trying too hard, stressing about getting pregnant and a being upset each month it didnt happen to the years it took. It can and will happen when its time. Best of luck.

I have felt your pain. I had little to no problems getting pregnant with my now 10 year old son. Two years later we tried again... Nothing. For years. I heard it all. " At least you have one, you can adopt, some people can't have any, etc" Callous,

If not well meaning. I went through everything and was facing IVF. I wasn't ready for that yet. Especially since we didn't know if I would carry. I just let it go for a while. Anyway, then one day it just happened. My body decided to work again. 8 1/2 years later we had a wonderful baby girl. To tell you the truth having an older sibling is great. They help, they understand, little jealousy, and the live for her just pours out of him. It gets me teary eyed (so not the crying type- unless I'm pregnant, then a fray in my pants gets me going) just watching them. I know how hard this is for you and how much you want this. It has definitely made me appreciate every moment more. Even when I had hyperemesis gravidarum, no complaints. I hope one day you get that chance again.

It took me a little over 2 years from surgery to get pregnant (currently 28 weeks) an it honestly was when I quit trying and just started hanging out with friends more and had gained 20 pounds back and did not look sick. I had given up and we were just talking about seeing a specialist when one morning I took a test on a whim!! It's so hard to go through all the physical and emotional changes of weight loss and then add trying to conceive in on top of it. Good luck and I hope you get that beautiful baby soon.

Hi Everyone - just wanted to update! All my tests have come back "normal". Hormones, tubes, ovulating normally. But no baby, so I took some time off. Enjoyed the time with my family and I am back. Just started a round of clomid and will do an IUI this month. I am keeping my fingers crossed! Hope all of you are doing well!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
