Protien Drinks With Less Than 5 Grams Of Sugar Or Fat 20-50 Grams Of Protien

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! I was banded on 2/17 (about 2-1/2 weeks ago) and I will be able to start mushy foods next Wednesday. I think my Dr. is more conservative than others and that most are already on solid foods by now......I have used Jay Robb Protein Shakes. They taste very good and I mix them with Water and a drop of low fat milk. I especially like when I add a cup of strong Decaf coffee to the chocolate shake....tastes like a mocha frosty! I use Jay Robb because the Protein numbers and quality are good and there are no carbs and no artificial sweeteners...just stevia.

Thanks for the info about the other stevia sweetened drink...I am going to check it our right now!!! I have lost 33 lbs since January 13th (my 1st Dr. visit). I had a very easy time with the surgery...I think the thing I have struggled with the most is the liquid diet....I miss my food!!! But luckily, the time has gone by quick......and when I see the scale I know it is all very worth it!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
