  1. Hi everyone! I was banded on 2/17 (about 2-1/2 weeks ago) and I will be able to start mushy foods next Wednesday. I think my Dr. is more conservative than others and that most are already on solid foods by now......I have used Jay Robb protein shakes. They taste very good and I mix them with water and a drop of low fat milk. I especially like when I add a cup of strong decaf coffee to the chocolate shake....tastes like a mocha frosty! I use Jay Robb because the protein numbers and quality are good and there are no carbs and no artificial sweeteners...just stevia. Thanks for the info about the other stevia sweetened drink...I am going to check it our right now!!! I have lost 33 lbs since January 13th (my 1st Dr. visit). I had a very easy time with the surgery...I think the thing I have struggled with the most is the liquid diet....I miss my food!!! But luckily, the time has gone by quick......and when I see the scale I know it is all very worth it!!

  4. I think my doctor is much stricter than others. I was banded on 2/17. I had 3 days of clear liquids and now I have 2 FULL WEEKS of 3 protein shakes a day! Nothing else(other than water) and no exceptions!!!!! I have been having a VERY hard time with this.......I don't feel like cake, cookies, etc, but at this point, I would give anything to just have a teaspoon of cottage cheese!!! Don't many Drs. allow these foods after 1 week?????
  5. I was the same way...very emotional! You will do great....best of luck!

  10. A great post surgery gift!!! I am three days after surgery and feeling just a little better every day! Yesterday I hd one one of "what did I do, why did I do this" moments" , feeling very sorry for myself cause I could not eat and feeling lousy. But I then received the nicest gift from my sister. She came over with a shopping bag of clothes for me. I was sooooooo happy to find 2 pairs and jeans and 3 tops....all size mediums and 10's!!!!!! At first, I said, these could not be for me....and she said, yes they are cause you will fit into them shortly. As I held up the beautiful "skinny" clothes I realized that this was real...one day I will be thin and healthier, I knew that this would all be worth it!
