  1. Both my husband and I had surgery February 1st. So glad it's over. I've had a rough couple of days though. They started me off with 3cc's of fluid and he stayed empty because they had to repair a hernia. The first time I took the oral pain medicine I threw up (dry heave, nothing came up). That caused swelling which just started a bad chain reaction. By Friday I was extremely nauseous and dry heaving a ton so I had to get all the fluid taken out. I'm feeling much better now and still wouldn't change anything. Hubby is doing great.

  3. I'm from the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Thankfully I was able to move fast! My husband and I went in all prepared to finance the whole surgery because we didn't think insurance covered it. We tried in 2008 and were denied. We were told that not only did they cover it, but the only prerequisite was a physical!!! Super blessed. So now we're both on schedule for Feb 1st!
  4. I'm a newbie with a February 1st surgery date. Guess I will be one of the first to post here!
  5. Hello all! This is my first post! I'm excited for my upcoming surgery on February 1st, but I am having a lot of difficulties with the Protein shakes. I purchased several sample packs from different companies in different flavors and I just can't get them down! My husband and I are doing the surgery together and he says it's just all in my head...which is probably right! Nevertheless, I can't get past the horrible smell and the gritty taste. Then when I do get some down it just feels like it's sitting in my stomach funny and I'm going to puke. I'm allowed solids on my pre-op diet so I've just been substituting with lots of tuna, but I'm not quite sure what to do post-surgery. Any ideas?
