I have three healthy, beautiful children and my son gets happy checks at daycare everyday (and most of you know what this means to me, cause it was so difficult in the past with his difficult behavior).

And best of all------I am officially a babe, everywhere I go, the guys check me out and I'm loving it, hubby isn't enjoying it, but I sure am..

I can't believe I am eating a cup of food or less at a meal and am full! And when I get my first fill, I know it'll be even less. But for now I am at -27 pounds a month out fomr surgery, and it feels WONDERFUL!

I have so many things to be happy about. Here are 10 to start.

1) I have a wonderful, loving, supportive husband who thinks I've ALWAYS been hot.

2) I have great friends and a loving family.

3) I met my Rabbits and Turtles United Challenge goal early (yesterday).

4) I'm finally past the halfway point to my goal weight!

5) I've had no complications with my band.

6) I'm averaging a loss of 2.5 lbs. per week.

7) I'm finally over my nasty cold.

8) I got to sing karaoke last night.

9) My step-son is a great kid.

10) I'm happy to have found LBT.

My happy thought for the day was brought to me by this thread and everyone who has posted in it. As I read each post and thought about the person who was sharing their happy thoughts, I grew happier and happier! I started to respond to each one individually, but I think I will just say to each of you - I'm so genuinely happy for your successes and happy moments, both big and small. Thank you all for making me smile and for being part of my happy thoughts today! *group hug*

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
