35 lbs is NOT FAILURE! That is a lot of hard work to get that far. Maybe after 2 years, you should explore with your doctor the possibility of a "refresher" on the do's and don'ts of the band. A lot of people on here indicate that restarting the plan from the beginning is a great way to kick your weight loss back into gear.

How much weight would u normally put on in 2yrs pre-band.. look at the whole picture not just your weight loss, do u feel fitter, are u eating more healthy food.. do a kick start and go back to basics .. good luck :)

I agree with Cazzy. You aren't a failure. If you didn't have the surgery you could possibly be 50+ pounds heavier than you are now. Put on your big girl panties and take control of the situation! Get in and see your dr if it's time for a fill. Start logging what you are eating if you haven't been. You can do it!

I agree with the others. Any weight lost is a positive thing. I hear your frustration though.

It sounds to me like you have never seen the green zone. I say go get a fill (or 2, or 3 if your doc is one that gives tiny fills) and put the band to better use.

Have you tried weight watchers! It works... I know you think the band should do it all, but it (weightwatchers) helps to keep track... I have had my band and been loving it... But when I stray I go to weight watchers and the gym.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
