Oh goodness...good luck tomorrow! I'm not a fellow tummy tucker but I do admire you for taking this next step. I do not have a high tolerance for pain so it would not even be an option for me! Again, good luck and I'm so excited for you!

Tip #1 stay ahead of the pain set an alarm clock to go off when your next dose is and take the meds even if you feel good for the first 3 days.

#2 buy baby wipes to wash yourself with for those days when showering is to hard

#3 buy large unscented maxi pads to cover your incisions with they are more comfortable then gauze and it provides a cushion between them and your binder.< /p>

#4 Allow others to take care of you! Its hard to do but do it your worth it.

#5 drink lots of Water, it take fluids in to push fluids out

#6 take lots of photos and measurements before surgery

#7 come to terms that this is a big surgery and it will take time to heal (I'm still working on this)

#8 DO NOT WEIGH YOURSELF FOR 3 WEEKS after the surgery

Hope some of these help :-)

Good luck for tomorrow!

The best advice I can give you is to take it easy. Like seriously, even when you feel fine, don't push it. The more you push it, the longer the swelling will take to go down. Use this time to rest and recover.

You'll be so happy with the result! Don't forget to take photos!

Hi:

My advice is to get a spare binder if you can because then you'll always have a clean one to switch to. Also, rest is so important. You'll notice that if you overdo things you'll swell more, so be choosey about what you chose to do or not do so that you can rest more. If your surgeon offers the pain pump, take it. The pain pump was so helpful the first few days with the pain in the muscle tightening area.

Best wishes to you. Take care.

Sue

So every thing went great. Surgery took about two hours. Stayed the night discharged at about 4. Pharmacy forgot to give me the percocet. Last night was pretty painful. The compression garmit ups on the sides and was rubbing the incision. But now I have the pain meds and put maxi-pads to stop rubbing. Will keep you all posted. Thanks for everything

highland, my surgeon says recovery can take 6-8 weeks I was very active and fit before the surgery and I'm only 2 weeks out from my Tummy Tuck and I believe it will take every bit of that time. FYI it can take up to a year for all the swelling to be gone but even so with the swelling my tummy ROCKS!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
