Preneec- When I started reading everyones stories it made me a little scared about all the pain and gas. I actually had very minimal pain, NO gas pain, but had a lot of gas. I only took my pain meds to help me sleep. Now 9 days post op and I have to take them only when I over do it, like cleaning my house. But still more sorness than actuall pain. You will do well. The key things for me were getting up as soon as I could, a lot of walking, and I took extra stregnth gas x every 5-6 hrs (4 per day) you will do great. Keep us posted.

I started with a 54 now I'm 48 and surprisingly I got it form the doctors the wanted me to try the sleeve I kind of feel like it was a scare tackett that backed fired because its only pushed me harder to succeed

good on you !! thats wonderful. the sleeve is really drastic according to my dr. im so glad that you are going this way... im sure you will do exactly what you set out to do. now i need that determination.. that i will do it as well.
Hi March Bandsters! I am having my surgery on Thursday at 9am. I have done really well on the pre-op diet and I'm ready for this. It hasn't hit me just yet. I'm still very excited' date=' but the nervousness hasn't hit yet. I'm finishing up at work tomorrow and preparing to be out for a week. Got my support system in place? The love of my life and my best girlfriend will be there with me on Surgery day.

I've been reading all of your posts from those who have recently had surgery on yesterday. I'm trying to follow to see what your going through so I know what to possibly expect. I read someone had trouble sipping from a medicine cup and couldn't keep that down. I don't want anything like that to happen. I went to the store today to get some Colace for constipation and some more protein shakes. I think I am going to the hospital in my PJ's and slippers. That's comfortable for me.

Well speedy recovery to those who are recuperating from surgery this week and all other March Bandsters best wishes on your journey!

I was so nervous this morning before my surgery I even told my husband wth am I doing here lets go home...he of course told me to come back to my sense & I stayed my surgery was only about hour long and to me felt like I was only gone for 10mins. The worst for me so far has been the pain from the gas and the pain is in my shoulder. If you don't already have one I suggest you buy a heat pad it is a wonderful thing. Good luck to you and keep us posted.

First Dr told me that I would not lose enough weight in 1 yr to be considered a success. He said it would not help with my diabetes nor my high blood pressure. He said I needed to do the sleeve.. Dr #2 said I needed to do the bypass b/c my bmi was above 50 and refused to see me again until I lost weight to get below 50. Dr #3 told me that if I wanted the band to work then it was up to me. He could put the band in and I held the controls. He said success depends on me. Guess which doctor I went with? yup, #3.

best move you ever made..thats for sure. Thats the sort of dr we all need.

JUDYCH1946.........I SCRAMBLED 2 EGGS BUT ONLY ATE HALF. THEY WEREN'T SLOPPY, I COOKED THEM THOROUGHLY AND FORGOT TO ADD MILK LIKE THE DIETICIANS. TOLD ME. I ATE SLOWLY. CHEWED THEM AS GOOD AS I COULD. THEY STAYED DOWN, NO NAUSEA OR ANYTHING. BUT 40I MINUTES LATER I WAS HUNGRY. LOL. sorry about the all caps......

so you dont think you could have managed the two eggs at one time?? did you go back later and finish them? i know that 2 eggs can be rather filling at times for me.

so you forgot to add milk?? lol. you did a good job to get them down then. lol. i must remember to get some powdered low fat milk so i can scramble some when the time comes. you didnt add anything else to them at all?/ i used to cook eggs scrambled in the microwave. i would just stir the raw egg in a pudding bowl, add some pepper and cook for a short period of time. they were more chewy that way than doing them in a pot. i think that doing them in the pot is easier on the stomach.powdered low fat milk is wonderful with scrambled eggs. the two go really well together.

i wish i could get away with it... perhaps i will wear a nightie and dressing gown coming home.

Yes, you are not alone I'm getting about 6 oz of protein shake a day. My doc said its ok dont force it.

I am being banded on 3/19/12 and I am super excited and look forward to the support that I feel I can receive on this forum. This was a big decision for me and my family but it is the BEST decision for us. I am both nervous and excited about my surgery and my new life. I am on day 9 of the pre op diet. I have lost about 11 pounds so far which is great and I am finally not starving every day...it has been tough but I know that it is all worth having the surgery and the overall benefit that will come from it.

Hi everyone! My surgery is scheduled for March 16... Three more days! I think I am more nervous than excited right now. I have been able to successfully lose 50-100 pounds at least five times in my life only to regain it all plus an 25-30 pounds. Sometimes I think I can just lose weight like I always do BUT this time I wil keep it off (yeah right). That is my main reason to have the surgery and why I do not want to regain all of my weight again and be closer to 400. So far, I lost 54 since Dec. 7 (10 pre-op diet). I believe I am doing the right thing to have the band yet there is a nagging feeling telling me "don't do it". I read these blogs religiously and enjoy the supportive nature of it.
