  1. Thanks everyone...i had stopped coming to this site..but it was a source of inspiration and motivation..just downloaded app to phone along with fit pal to track intake. I am going to opt for liquids for a week to get back on path..and have an apt in 2 weeks...
  2. Year anniversary of lapband in March..weight lost total 20 since gaining 20 back...need tips..advice..stuffing myself like an addict..
  3. Hard chioce. The LB does have a greater risk of side effects, slippage, erosion, rejection. It's bound to have problems again, even if its 10 years from now. Sleeve is a good alternative to the GBP, lower risks as well. But you will have to weigh the pros and cons and decide from there. Hard chioce! Great job on lost thus far!
  4. lol. too funny! I think the BK commercial with thier new summer burgers are now in my brain!

  10. Omg..i wished i would have opted for the sleeve. I am struggling..barley restricted. Do u feel suppressed hunger now? How long were u out of work? I am 5 months post band
  11. Hi guys..i am looking for a new dr to do my fills in Richmond..my surgeon is no longer in practice at henrico drs .i was banded march this year..please provide your referrals..i need someone not too conservative with fills....who listens and is top notch.
  12. My dr did my first fill 4 weeks post op. Some do 6 weeks. I know that some folks say it takes a while to determine your green zone...I guess 4-5 months out, I am still not in the zone...will be having a real conversation with my Dr next week to fill her up!
  13. I am glad i found this topic..my dr is conservative as well..it can be frustrating because surgery is risky and costly not to see the results expected..i feel like my struggle is near where it was before surgery. And maybe i should have gotten the sleeve. But then i people with other surgeries that have regained weight and are opting for the band as well...i do agree that having a serious talk with our dr is due..or find one that will fill us more..
  14. 50 co pay, insurance pays i think 200, so 250 total
  15. oK, so I am 4 months post op, down 40 pounds. Been stuck recently..never really feel satified...never had more than 5cc in my 10 cc band. I would love to test drive 6-7 or more cc..but pratice looks at how slow the the liquids move through my xray as a determination. Thoughts out there? I really want to fill her up.
  16. i ate fast for sure! One lesson I will not FORGET!
  17. Ate some trail mix with nuts and experienced 5 hours of top rated, major, pain and nausea. My body tried to up chuck..to the point i could barley take breaths ..i am talking top 3 list of lifetime pain..finally feeling better..no more nuts for me...funny cuz before the band my body never really cared for nuts..adleast i know now...all about learning what u can and can't eat.
  18. Fell off track..when I do not sleep consistently I get anxious and bad eating habits creaped back in..was feeling a lil pain from eating too much..back on track..don't let bad days turn to bad weeks then month's. Anyone else been struggling? How have u coped? I have learned that I cannot "taste" bad foods without it triggering wanting more.
  19. Totally makes a difference! Congrats on your wieght lost!!
  20. I am using the http://www.fatsecret.com/. Mostly due to the andriod app being super easy. I log everything on my phone.
  21. OK, so was stuck at 30pound weight lost and decided to track foods (totally recommended by my old nutritionist). 2500 a day With band! No wonder. Found a great app I am using to track Cal's...down 4 pounds already! 1200 a day..1500 max if training .Was eating way to much before..healthy. but too much. 18 pounds to go to first goal!
  22. I am about to get p90x..been doing weights and cardio at home and kick boxing and walking at gym..looking for the next level..got a goal to loose 30 more this year!
  23. Thanks for sharing! you look beautiful! love the self reflection in your story!
  24. Surgery date was 3/7/12. Been feeling down, although 30 pounds down since preop, i went shopping and after seeing my body, I was second guessing myself, thinking i should have opted for Sleeve or BYPASS, would be down 50 by now.. maybe in a size 18 instead of 22/...faster weight lost, less followup, less frustration.......right? Then, I got a call from my dr. My blood work was perfect. 2 months ago i was border pre diabetic and bad Chol was high. Low iron too! But, now, blood work was perfect!!! I am working out with less pains and more energy. Had to remind myself of why I made this decesion. SOOOOOOO, I thought to myself....hard work and dedication goes hand in hand with the band. i do not have cravings anymore..and have not been binge eating. I am now excercising 5 days a week like I was doing 100 pounds ago. Slow and Steady works for me, the journey itself is one full of self reflection and change for the better!! Keep trucking Bandsters!!! And be sure to high five yourself for every accomplishment!!
