  9. My Fitness Pal is an app as well as a website. I use it daily to keep track of my food ( protein, carbs, fat, sodium, sugar) as well as exercise, progress and see how everyone else is doing. It's another place for support

  12. I'm a vice-principal of an elementary school so I hear you loud and clear I was once told it would take about six weeks to recoup. I still have a ways to go before considering this surgery. I must say that you are inspiring. I'll get there hopefully in a year or so.
  13. Thanks for sharing your photos! You look great! How much time off work did you need?
  14. Oh, by the way, forum names may not necessarily be their username on MFP.
  15. Nope. All you need to do is go to friends, add a friend, type in your username (judych1946) then you add the username of the person you want to add ( for example: iluvyogi). It should work. I sent you a request to be friends. All you need to do is accept or ignore. Please accept
  16. I haven't been on here for awhile and just read the last 20 pages that I have missed. Phew! I also notice the left shoulder pain when I am getting full. Kinda neat as a cue to stop eating but mostly really annoying! My first fill will be on 4/27. I have some restriction. I can eat soft foods and have tried a few items today that would be considered solid. So far so good. I am also on MFP. Feel free to add me: iluvyogi
  17. I would love to have more MFP friends! Please add me: iluvyogi Thanks!
  18. This is a GREAT forum...so much support for everyone's needs, worries, concerns and successes! I think of each and everyone of you as we go through this incredible journey together. Take care of yourself... You are so worth it!!!
  19. Thanks for thinking of me. I was really sleepy after surgery. My oxygen was a little low for awhile so they kept an eye on me. I was nervous but much more excited when the time came. No nausea...thank goodness. That was my biggest fear. I have some shoulder pain but it's not too bad. I think I kept imagining the worst case scenario, thinking that it would happen to me. Are you doing the same? Have you written a list of pros and cons for this surgery? Only you can make the decision for you. I wish you the best of luck!
  20. I am so sorry to hear that for both of you Violet and dhales!
  21. Hi everyone! My surgery is scheduled for March 16... Three more days! I think I am more nervous than excited right now. I have been able to successfully lose 50-100 pounds at least five times in my life only to regain it all plus an 25-30 pounds. Sometimes I think I can just lose weight like I always do BUT this time I wil keep it off (yeah right). That is my main reason to have the surgery and why I do not want to regain all of my weight again and be closer to 400. So far, I lost 54 since Dec. 7 (10 pre-op diet). I believe I am doing the right thing to have the band yet there is a nagging feeling telling me "don't do it". I read these blogs religiously and enjoy the supportive nature of it.
  22. I also gave up Diet Pepsi and other diet sodas. When I first heard that drinking carbonated drinks was a no-no, I thought "well, I always thought I drank too much of it every day. I started my pre-op diet on March 2nd and cut out all diet drinks as well. I feel so much better and I am sure you will too! Keep up the good work!
