Thanks for inviting me to this group! I got banded on 1/24 and currently recovering. I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to post, I'm still learning my way around this site. Look forward to meeting other January alums.

Please forvive me as I try to figure out how this works. I got baded on the 20th. Was your recovery easy? The first 4 days of mine I had a lot of pain. Now I am rocking and rolling. I have lost 17 in 10 days. Not an easy loss but I will take it. I hope to figure this out soon. I am having problems with nausea. Anyone else?

Hi Becky, I was banded on the 24th and was in a lot of pain for 4 or 5 days after. I was able to at least getout of the house on day 5 for a couple of minutes but that was really it. I don't have problems with nausea but I do feel a little weak at times but I'm not doing a great job with my Proteins either. Each day does seem to get a little better. Good luck!

Hi all! I was banded on the 18th, so it will be two weeks Wednesday. I have lost 6 pounds since surgery and 13 pounds before so I'm down a total of 19. I was up and about the day following surgery with a little soreness only. I have also had nausea a couple of times and I realized it was either from eating too fast or once it was eating after I took my chewable Vitamin. You definitely need to keep experimenting with what works. I feel great and know that if you keep the average of one to two pounds a week in mind, you won't get discouraged.

If you have alchohol pads or rubbing alchohol, put a little on a cotton ball and wave under your nose taking a few "whiffs". There is something with alchohol that helps the receptors for nausea. We use it in recover rooms all the time! Hope that helps.

Mags2u, thanks so much! I have got to blog about surgery next - I'm not emotionally there yet though!

All, I am one week post op today. Went in for my weigh in and wound check today - down 8 pounds. My surgeon doesn't make people diet pre-op, so I started dieting the day I got banded. Have had zero nausea, but I've had gas pains in my chest area that would make you slap your gramma and cuss the pastor. I'm on the mushies diet until 2/28 when I am scheduled for my first fill. Glad everyone is doing ok.

Great job LBBarbie! I know I looked at the calendar today and realized I'm three weeks post-op! Its kind of all becoming habit now. Best decision I've ever made! My first fill is Feb 9th and my goal is to be down at LEAST another 5lbs. by then for a total of 25lb but even more than the scale, I'm feeling it in my close. I had a girl at work today- wow, look at your butt! You can really tell you are losing! I'll take it.smilielol5.gif

look online for free weight tickers, most everone uses the tickerfactory.com I think. once you have made it , you go to settings on this page and paste and copy code and it will show up everytim you post something. Don't forget to bookmart your ticker so you can make changes..

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
