    Hi fellow Bandsters,
I finally got up the courage to write my surgery story; I was banded on 1/24. It has photos to go along with it, so I put it on my blog. I hope you will read it and give me your feedback!http://lapbandbarbie.com/
    Cheers,

Sounds like pure jealousy to me. Sometimes it can feel like you never left high school. Tell her if she doesn't have anything nice to say, then keep her pie hole shut! LOL

Thanks for inviting me to this group! I got banded on 1/24 and currently recovering. I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to post, I'm still learning my way around this site. Look forward to meeting other January alums.

Being newly banded just 11 days ago, those feelings of nerves combined with excitement are fresh in my mind.
It really is a very minor surgery. I was truly shocked by the lack of pain around my incisions (I have 5 of them, no stitches). I was up walking to the bathroom before I even got out of recovery. My steri strips have come off them just in the last 2 days and they have healed beautifully.
The only issue I had was with the gas they pump into your abdomen during surgery. It was a bit painful and uncomfortable. My best advice is to walk as much as you can handle because it really does help to work that air out.
So far, I'm doing well. I'm anxious for my first fill on February 6th. As of this past Friday, I've already lost 30 pounds just from the pre-surgical diet and a week post op. I definitely am glad I did this so far!
Best of luck to you and be sure to let us know how it goes!

Its normal to be nervous, but just remember it will be over before you know it. Then you will get to reap the benefits. I can honestly say I really wasnt nervous but more excited. I couldnt wait to have it done. I wish I had done it 20 years ago if it had been available. I was just banded in August by my weight loss has been phenomenol. You will be fine, just stay focused on the end result.
Good luck. Keep up posted on how you do!
