Hey Marv-Sue.. another Port Huron Bander!! Glad to have you here and glad to hear your surgery went well. DH and I were banded in Port Huron.. me April 07 and he May 07. I've lost 60# and he's lost 45# so far. We'd both do it again in a heartbeat. Nothing to be scared of!! We're all in this together. Once you go back on mushy food, don't be surprised if the scale doesn't move as quickly. Matter of fact, I suggest you weigh once a week instead of every day cause that tends to be a little too frustrating.

Any questions.. just post or write to me at justincase@lycos.com and I'll be happy to do what I can! Welcome to Bandland!!!!

Sue, first thing I did was arrange for a place to meet. We meet at our church. I put a notice in the paper and we went from there. We have had 4 meetings so far and the group is growing. Hope you have the same success!! The first meetings are just getting to know each other and telling our stories. Later, we hope to bring in speakers.

Hi everyone from Michigan!! I have not been on the Lapband board for months. What happened to the tickerfactory where I can update my #.s???? Teachlady I have met on the board. What a nice person. I am looking either for a group meeting or to start one in this area of Bay City, and Midland. Anyone know of one??? I was banded on April of 07, I lost about 57 pounds quickly, then it had been 5 months that I had had a fill, and I got one this week. I had only gained back a few pounds. They cant seem to find a fill that fits me, either it is not enouf or too much. I seem to have been on quite a stall for a while, hopefully now it will pick up although with this fill I am still quite hungry. Glad to have this board and all of yous!!

Yes, I did have the surgery in Flint at Hurley like some of yous. I really wish there were a place for the fills closer to me in Auburn, but they say because of liablility they have to do the fills where I had the surgery.

I've only lost 27lbs since surgery (June 21, 2007), but it's completely my fault, I've not yet had a fill.

I had one scheduled with Christy (Hurley) but had to cancel it and it's a challenge for me to schedule another with my work schedule.

I do feel "soft stops" and get feelings of being "satisfied" but I continue to eat through them. I'm working on it, though. I was back up to 308 and have gotten back down to 301, so I'm hoping I can stay on track.

Wow! you look just fabulous!!! What a great inspiration you are!! I do remember talking with you before. I just had a 3rd fill last week, and I just cant seem to get into the losing grouve I was into before. Any helpful ideas? It all started with that darn pumpking pie at Thanksgiving time!!! I found out though that like I said before, when I get a fill, it is always too much, and then I cant eat anything except to drench all food in either sour cream, ranch dressing, (light of course), or mayo, and eat a LOT of low sugar ice cream, and because of all that my cholesterol, and blood pressure are sky high! If I dont drench this stuff, nothing goes down, except Soups. YUK!!

And if they give me just a touch less fill, I am hungry all the time. Any helpful info from you would be great!! I do exercise a LOT!! and walk every day. I am missing something. What do you eat???? YOu look like a movie star, is that really a picture of you??

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
