98 Days Post Op Surgery, Down 88 Pounds, Already Half Way To My Goal!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Like title says, I'm down 88 pounds already, from 356 to 268, feels amazing! I have followed my doctors diet to a T, hit the gym 4 days a week to weight train, and walk/jog 8+ miles a week. I feel amazing and would like to thank everyone encouraging words and advice here on this forum. Here's to my upcoming season of semi pro football! Without God and this life altering choice I have made I know it would not be possible. 176 pounds down here I come!!!!

It is, but I looked at this surgery as a real gift and I will not let it go to waste, so I push myself very hard. Trust me there's days I don't want to go lift weight but I do it anyways. I look at results as just a bonus to my hard work:)

GREAT JOB!!! I had surgery on Aug 24 th 2011 and lost 115 so far. Don't u feel amazing? I am glad to hear your story because the other day I was rudely called a liar and told the weight I lost was impossible. No.its not impossible with hard work ;)

Thank you all, if I can inspire one person with my success it is all worth it. As of today I am now down 93 pounds. Losing 5 pounds a week very steadily. Lots of gym time, and track time. Every week I change up my routine and it seems to be working.

Joel, you are the bomb. I really don't like exercising, but I love the way I feel after I do. I even added jogging to my list treadmill that is. What type of exercising are you doing? My thighs need alot of work. Oh yea zumba is fun, I do that mostly.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
