I plan on eating a bite or two of everything. I will still use my salad plate while everyone else uses their big old dinner plates. I have decided I not even attempt to keep up with my calories and carbs that day. This is a lifestyle change for me, not a diet, and so I will just have little portions but still enjoy the day with family and friends and the foods that only get prepared once a year.

I'm with bromo. I plan on just having a few bites of everything on a smaller plate vs. everyone's elses jumbo plates. I just got my first fill yesterday, so I need to be careful and really watch what and how I eat. I'm kind of glad that I won't have that overstuffed feeling this year like all the years past.

Ditto on what everyone else said...I am just going to kind of be smart and careful but enjoying myself and family while taking small portions or bites of what I like and have spent hours making.....I haven't had a fill yet was just banded on 11/11 so I have to be really careful on the solids... Everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving...

Doing the same here. My husband has gotten used to being served dinner on salad plates.

Yes but just think of all the compliments you are going to get from all those people you have not seen for a while.

That in itself will motivate anybody!

With every food I love on the table, I am determined to at least TASTE everything there. I'll start with the sliders first and work my way up to the stuffing.

I plan on having some turkey, cranberry sauce and dessert. My wonderful hubby is making me a low(er) fat/carb Egg Nog cheesecake (lots of protein!)

I can't wait for the day.

This will be my 3rd Thanksgiving with the band. I plan out my day so I can have a little bit of each of the things I want. It may sound a bit crazy, but this plan includes pumpkin pie for Breakfast ... lol, it's the only time it fits in. It worked out well the last 2 years, so my plan will stay about the same. I actually lost weight during Thanksgiving week the first 2, now I'll just maintain this year doing it the same way.

I will just eat a little of the stuff I love and don’t eat year round like stuffing and cheesecake

Won’t pig out(will I can’t unless I want to throw up) like years past

Will try to remember with the holiday is all about not the food

I plan to try a little of each my favorites and not have to beach myself after dinner like in past years. I'm the cook so I know what I put in the food and which are the healthiest. My ham is done and I had some of it with an egg in a Breakfast burrito. That was a 261 calorie and 24 Protein meal. Looking forward to a little pecan pie. The first real sweet since my pre-op diet tounge_smile.gif .

Well I am a crazy person when it comes to journaling my food so this is how I handled our early Thanksgiving dinner on Tuesday. Before the meal I planned out exactly what I would eat and journaled it.

Breakfast: Protein shake

Lunch: 3 oz turkey ( ate all of this first without anything else on my plate)

1/4 c stuffing ( didn't eat it all )

1/4 c mashed potatoes

2 T gravy

1/4 c fresh green Beans

Dinner: 3 oz Turkey

1/16 piece of pumpkin pie with 1 T SF cool whip

It was somewhat easy for me because it was just my hubby, son, and myself so I didn't make my fav. (sweet potatoes)! I was able to easily stay under 1000 calories and lost a pound this morning! Very happy! I had a great time visiting with my son, who lives out of town, and enjoying the day guilt free. Also his enthusiasm for my weight loss was very motivating. On his last visit I was down 30. Have a great day however YOU choose to do it! We are all blessed to have this wonderful band helping us with our journey!

I'm on day 7 onto "smushies" so it will be interesting. I'm looking forward to enjoying myself with the fam and not stuffing myself as usual.

Pretty much the same for me. I'm making the turkey. Deep fried! But I checked and the calories are actually close to the same as roasting it. Just 20 more per serving. Just going to eat a bit of everything. I don't have full restriction, so I can eat more, but I'm going to try not to. And if as some have said, if I space it out a bit, it won't be so bad. At least the turkey is good Protein.< /p>

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
