What Does Nsv Stand For?

Recommended Posts

Hey gang!

I get that an NSV is a milestone, or compliment, but I can't figure out what it stands for. Help a brother out!

NSV is any accomplishment or victory that you've achieved that doesn't include a scale. It could be a smaller clothing size, someone paid you a compliment about your weight loss, fitting to an airplane seat or another seat, crossing your legs, etc. anything that maybe you wouldn't or couldn't do before.

It's a victory to be celebrated even if the scale isn't moving (or if it's not moving enough or the right way!)

Celebrate every little thing and be proud of what you've accomplished. It's the little things that add up to big success.

Walking for 9 holes of Golf is one for sure.

A lot of times we get worried when we don't see the scale move. That doesn't mean that your not losing ! You start losing inches. That can be a bigger victory then the scale.< /p>

Like Kitty said, cloths sizes go down, so you are smaller, fitting in a Restaurant Booth, or Theater Seat, Getting complimented from someone on your weight Loss, Crossing your Legs. All these and more, that does not pertain to the scale is a NSV. Celebrate them all....

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
