HI This actually sounds like a great idea! I like to go out with friends to eat and that is actually one of the things I am worried about. Eating is such a big part of the social situations we are involved in be it with work or out to dinner. Being able to order 1/2 would be nice. If not I just ask for a to go box when I get my meal and put 1/2 aside. I have 3 teens and I am sure that when I get home someone will eat it before I ever get the chance to eat it! Keep in touch!

I got my cards from the doctor before my surgery. Another thing....my husband and I went out to dinner on a night our electric was out. I am on my Optifast two-week pre-op diet and I took a packet of Soup and ordered a cup of tea plus another cup with just hot Water. I mixed my soup at the table and had that for my dinner. The waitress didn't seem to mind at all, just curious. The restaurant didn't charge me at all for the extra cup of water. So we still got to eat out together!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
