Hello from Missouri

This is just the post I was looking for! I am going through this journey as I have completed all the testing and finishing out my 6 month WW plan. My BMI is a whopping 42, I have pre-hypertension and knee aches every time I climb or go down stairs due to my weight. I informed my husband, closest friends to help support me through this process. My immediate family does not support but I am not around them much luckily. I am extremely fearful as I have never had any procedures done but I am so ready to get this process started. I will definitely be needing support and would love to support others out there

Hello everyone! I am interested in getting to know some new friends who are just starting out on this journey of being banded. Who else out there needs some support of someone else going through the same thing that they are? Let's do this together!

Hi there, my surgery is Dec 1st, and I'm just a little nervous...YIKES, but I'm so done with this lifestyle. I just joined this forum today. I am not telling a lot of people about my surgery and I just moved from one side of Canada to the other so I know no one in which to confide my fears and excitement about my re invention of myself.

This is proving to be a wonderful place to find others going through my exact same emotions, I do not feel so alone reading of others experiences. There are also some truly inspiring role models out there :D

Hey there! I'm just staring my journey as well. I attended the seminar on Sept 10 and had my first consult Oct 12. I'm going through a 6 month medically supervised diet, my next appointment being Nov 15. I'd love to have and BE a support person!

Kim

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
