  1. I have UHC as well and I am on month 2 on my 6 month supervised. Did you have a set amount of weight to lose? My insurance says it doesn't but I'm a little confused meaning their may not be a set amount but I'm assuming they are expecting some amount of weight loss effort?
  2. I am free mostly on Thursday and Friday evenings-sometimes Sat depending on the eve!! Next week I am free Thursday night 22nd and Friday the 23rd if any of those days work for you!!

  6. OMG!! Congratulations Septemberslimmer1960!! I know you feel soooo good!! 44lbs!!! I just had my first appointmetn with my dietician last week to start my six month supervised diet. I also joined and have been going to Planet Fitness-I like it there-I don't feel any intimidation:) I'm having labs drawn and my physical therapy appointment on Thursday! Things are moving slow but they are moving. I've started journaling when I have cravings even if I give into them because I'm such an emotional eater!!

  8. Tamg26k that's a good idea for a St Louis chapter for those post and pre op- it's great to read experiences but I have very little support here. Luckily my mom is slowly starting to be on board-but she's never had a weight problem-she's complaining of weight gain in her 60's and she's a size 8- LOL! I'm not sure what area would be convenient for people or what day (like maybe a Sat meet after the holidays for the StL peeps!
  9. That would be awesome Septemberslimmer! I live across from Heman too and looking for a workout buddy- I see my dietician to start my 6 months supervision on Dec 29- so I'm going to need help staying dedicated! Let's say we plan a meet after the holiday!
  10. Yeah! Support in St. Louis! I'm attending my first support group through BJC pre-op on Monday. I went to the NP on Thursday and MAN there is sooo much stuff I have to do. I have to have a 6 month document diet from dietitician-but that's okay because I didn't want to have the surgery until this summer when I get more time off work! Labs, psych evaluation, ekg! UGH! Wow terosiamoore-just Wednesday you were sleeved?!! Congratulations!!! I live in Ucity too-and I love it!! How are you feeling?

  13. Thank you so much Sophie'choice. I really don't know what to expect with all of this even though I've been researching for 3 years! LOL! It's just different actually going through all of this. I just heard about the pre op support mtg and I'm going to the next one. How long ago did you have your surgery?
  14. Or any sleevers in St Louis period? Needing support as I'm starting this journey and about to have my first NP appointment.
  15. I love I'm St Louis-finally attending my informational seminar on Wednesday to find out this journey and all I need to do! Surgeon is Dr Eagon Wash U

  17. Unjury is really good-I ordered it from their website-it for real tastes like milkshake and they have unflavored protein powder that mixed in well some turkey chili I made. I just got a few samples due to just what you said that taste changes. I'm not buying anything right now. It may take me awhile to get the surgery-my insurance has a 6 month supervised diet period:( I'm trying to stay positive and just do all the research I can! Since you are getting yours done in Dec I can support you with you journey with encouragement while I also learn!!!

  19. You are much further along than me! That's awesome!!! I am waiting to do the initial intake and hear from the surgery center (they told me they received my paperwork!) I'm also in therapy for things that have definitely contributed to all this weight. I too have had problems with fibroids and infertility (not a problem anymore since I'm single) but I love your advice about the protein shakes! I just got some Unjury sample packets. They taste good....but not sure how they would be after the surgery!!! Did U tell anyone about your surgery? Only my mother knows what I'm trying to do.

  21. You are my inspiration! When is your date? A woman I worked with got her procedure done in Mexico and looks amazing!! When you know...you just know! Only you can decide what's best and that's how I feel. It's my body...no one else has a clue what pain I go through! My hats off to u! I can't wait to get to that point!

  24. I'm early on in my journey too-I sent in my paperwork to the surgeon along with my PCP referral. One of the forms gave space to list all things you've tried in the past. I laughed cause I needed another form! I hear drs all the time trying to persuade other avenues....in some aspects it makes sense-for some the more sick we get...the more money for them. I also watch my father-never had diabetes or heart disease but he's had two knee replacements and arthritis on his spine. I have the start of arthritis in my knees so I see myself in him years later.
