the first 6 weeks are not about losing weight, but about healing. you are not going to have any restriction until you get your first fill, and you will most likely have to have several fills before you get a good restriction. you are doing fine, it is normal. after the swelling goes down after surgery, you can pretty much eat what you ate before. after you get a fill, you will eat less. i did the same thing. :)

Ooooo, don't worry. You are just getting started. You may not feel anything for a couple of fills. Consentrate on healing and on making good choices. Good Luck to you!

I just got my first fill 2 weeks ago of 3 cc 's. I still feel NO restriction. Can tolerate all breads, Pasta etc. Anxiously awaiting my second fill in 2 weeks. Hoping I have some type of restriction when it's done. My doctor told me to not get discouraged if I gained a few lbs and that it was normal until I had a couple of fills. I too feel like you. Hang in there. From what I hear it takes some patience.

I had my sugery 9-1-11 and lost a little then nothing. I got my first fill 9-21 and really haven't noticed a big difference. I go back to the Dr. on 10-12 and I am pretty sure I will be getting another fill. Because I can eat more than I should be able to.

Hey take it easy...did they not tell you it was a slow process?/? Really you need to really learn to eat slow, small bites, & take some control of your bad habits, before the band starts working. IT will, but it takes time, I had a lot of fills I was up to 9cc before I even started feeling any restriction & over 1 year of fills.... this is something they don't point out enough to us newbies...but it can happen this way & I am here to tell you it did for me. You are still just starting on this journey. BREATH, relax....control what you can, & keep putting one foot in front of the other. It will happen & you will be ready for it when it does. Try to eat less of the stuff you know you shouldn't. & eat more of the good stuff, then you can't beat yourself up so bad. I had the surgery twice, over 30 fills & unfills before I got to the good zone. & I have lost over 100lbs now, but it was a really long journey for me, I know how much you want to scream at the next person who tells you that you need to have patience.....but that is the best advise for right now. But that being said when you have over 8cc's & still feel no restriction then you will need to be more worried....but not yet at only 2 fills. & even before I felt restriction I had other signs that it was starting to work...burping....not starving all the time...not loosing a lot of weight but not gaining any more either. SO KEEP YOUR HEAD UP! Trust the jorney....take it easy on you!!! & just do the best you can each day, & know that it will get better & easier w/each fill....

GOOD LUCK<

& may your Journey be shorter than mine!!

:rolleyes::):D

      On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
      Soooo I am coming to a realization
      of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

      Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
