How much weight loss to drop a size

Recommended Posts

When you start to get to the lower sizes, how much does it take to lose a pants size? I am at 192 now and just fitting into a 14. It took me about 45 lbs to go from a tight 18 to a snug 14.

Ive heard that once you get out of the bigger sizes it doesnt take as much to go down a size. I was wondering if anyone can give any insight on how much they lost between sizes at this stage.

I'm down 39 lbs since surgery. Went from a 18/20 (3x) shirt and pants to now a very baggy 16. I could probably get into a 14 pants, but I haven’t' tried yet no money lol. But my tops are 14.

I was wondering the same thing. I am down 30lbs and was a size 22 now I am in an 18 comfortably. 10 more lbs and I should get into a 16 bottoms. I would say 10-20lbs for each size depending on your shape. Good luck and congrats to you!

I agree with the 10 to 20 pound range and how much you or what type of exercise you do greatly depends on how fast you drop sizes. I know the elliptical will help you drop a pants size in no time!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
