K well imma do me and you do you! Just because it's something your mind can't understand doesn't mean others have to thing just like you. Some people are just close minded! It works just go the forum of the hcg and see who will be laughing then!! I am not saying I will live on hcg for the rest of my life dang! I just want a little boost! I only need to lose 30 more pounds and if there is something to help me get there faster so I can maintain then YES I am going to try it. Fad diet or not people are losing tons of weight on it and like I said earlier just because FDA says so don't mean it's true!!! Government has steered us wrong many many times hunny! I don't see how a horomone that pregnant women produce naturally is bad for you? I'm not going to sit here and try to prove my point to someone who has no valuable research on this subject so let's just leave it at that sweetie

I have read the information on that site. I would be very worried about mixing my meds with something new. Scary thought. But you know we ALL would like an easy fix. I now remember people going to get the shots when I was younger can't remember the results of anyone though. I just think that if it really worked wouldn't the USA have more skinny people? Its not like it is a hidden product. I would not spend the $100 for it. But someone come back and tell us the results I am curious to see what happens to you. But happy with my band, but the fat person inside me is curious Cheri

Cheri I def plan on coming back in a month to let y'all know good or bad!! The reason everyone in the USA is not skinny is because it is very expensive to go to the doctor to do this now between 300-1000 dollars FDA doesn't let you purchase it in the USA without a prescription but their are people who do you just have to find the right ones. I'm really not sure why they don't want people to have easier access to this but maybe that have their reasons but I don't understand what they are! But I'm excited and should get my stuff this week!

I would be a little more Leary about the whole thing if I wouldn't have found that website and read over and over on the forums just like these of people who do this and get their supplies from the same people and have wonderful success with it! I did my research trust me because I had to convince my husband to let me do them and if I change his mind about it then It has to be good lol. I'm telling you if your curious to read some stories about it go to Hcgdietinfo.com. Very interesting things!

I couldn't even read all of these posts; they say the exact same thing.

Let's get this straight..you go on any website about the lap band and for every good review, there are always several bad ones: "Why don't you just lose the weight on your own" "Get on the treadmill" "Why would you have an invasive procedure to lose weight" "You could die"...but you still did it anyway, right?

HCG is a SYNTHETIC hormone (meaning man-made in case you don't know what that means)-so to the ignorant lady talking about drinking urine, you really need to do more research-you don't sound good at all.

If it is safe for women trying to get pregnant, why would it not be safe in this case? You are not starving yourself by only eating 500 calories a day, because your body is naturally burning 2000-2500 while taking HcG. I've been on the protocol several times and lost all the weight I wanted to lose and KEPT it off until I got pregnant; then and only then did I decide I didn't care how much I ate and that was a personal decision, not a result of taking HcG.

Fact of the matter is people who have researched and decided to take Hcg is their own decision and it is not up to you to speak your mind on how horrible you think it is. I'm absolutely positive that you read similar things when trying to decide whether or not you would go with the lap band and it probably pissed you off..why? Because its YOUR life and no one has the right to try and make you opt out of it, so why try and do it to someone else? This is precisely why I stick to my support group via Facebook and stay the hell off of this site because you people are still so judgemental to everything that has NOTHING to do with you. Shut your mouth and keep **** to yourself. Just because its not "for you" doesn't mean its not for someone else.

/End

If you don't want different, unsolicited opinions, you probably shouldn't post on an open message board. JMHO.

Well my opinion is there is different ways to go about it...we all have imagine issue and I don't think it's right how she went about trying to make me out to look like an idiot. All I'm saying is before you " think" you know what your about to express your opinion on do some research and don't throw un-true facts out there and make yourself look like the ignorant one. I mean have fun at taking pregnant women's urine? What a stupid stupid comment. "opinion" whatever you want to call it.

But what's great is that people are posting saying how dangerous it is and that we shouldnt take the easy way out, when they have no idea what they are talking about. I know you'll do great Kim and I believe that this is a good choice for you. I went to a clinic my first round and paid $800, then found Omni Drops, which seem to be just as effective for a lot less money. Even became a distributor so that I could save some money on their other products. There's also a great Omni support group that you might check out, so much more encouraging when you can see what others are doing instead of people trying to put you down because they chose a different path. https://www.facebook.com/groups/omni4u2/ and this is my site with my before and after pics, along with several others - https://www.facebook.com/pages/Omni-4-U/226312417450536

O.K Bandsters,,, this is coming from someone who knows nothing at all about what your doing, but I do know about Dietary Trends that have failed people, and have even caused Serious Health Problems. "SO PLEAS NO ONE JUMP ON ME FOR 2 CENTS.

I remember a Lady that I worked with jumped on Fen Fen. "anyone remember this stuff ?" I had lost weight with the band by staying low cal., and she wanted the easy way out, and asked my opinion. I told her what my Surgeon told me. That this stuff is garbage, and only screws up your Metabolism. Not to mention all the fillers, and the stuff is mostly caffeine anyway, and it can cause Medical problems.

Well he was rite. The Fen Fen caused serious Heart Problems. Of course they were sued, and the Lab has not gone back to trying to make a quick fix plan for weight loss. Yes she suffered a problem to the Heart.

So if your banded, why don't you do yourself a favor, and play it safe, and just lose as you go along. We all want to see it come off quick. But that can be dangerous too. joining the STARVATION NATION is not a good way to do this.

Ask your Surgeon if he approves, and if yes ! Then I only wish you Great Success. Just please don't be blind, and play with Dynamite... You could get hurt.....

Just my 2 cents.

Shirley.

It's discouraging for this not-yet-banded person to hear that bandsters who submitted to surgery which includes 5 holes in your stomach, requiring complete lifestyle changes and possibly many discomforts and challenges along the way resort to an off the counter fad approach to weight loss. Why? To get it off faster? Really? The reason most of us opt for LP surgery is because of all the failed attempts from other weight loss methods. The LAST thing I want is to go thru surgery only to be so impatient that I resort to a pill I could buy off the internet. Not judging, as I know nothing about HGC but have been doubting the LP decision and these posts really didnt help.

I posted the question BEFORE I had the surgery, completely out of curiosity only because LB surgery is the slowest and least invasive of the wls. While I am losing weight very slowly, I have not used HCG, nor have I wanted to but I still support those who do want to. Don't let posts on this site discourage you, that is the mere reason that I quit posting on the site. The only reason I commented earlier is because I got the notification in my email.

I love my band, and I wouldn't have it any other way. The slower you lose, the better it is for your skin but I can relate to those on here that want to see results faster. It's a mind game sometimes, that I don't think will ever change.

I am almost down 29 lbs since surgery in November, but that is just fine with me.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
