Ok, so today I chose to try 2 new things and so far BOTH of them were HORRIBLE!!!

How do I make Greek yogurt taste better? I bought the Kraft brand of plain and added 1 tsp of sugar free vanilla Syrup to it; still tastes bad to me....added granola, still yuck. Added 1 packet sugar, nada....

Any suggestions??? I hate to feel like I am throwing away food but if this is how greek yogurt is supposed to taste, I'd rather eat regular (I really don't care for it either but like it better than greek!)......I only bought 2 small containers of it.

thanks!

unflavored, no sugar added, greek yougurt can be really blah....you need the right brand. The answer: Chobani brand yogurt with fruit on the bottom. it's delicious. It comes in 0% 1% and 2% in a variety of flavors, pineapple, black cherry, strawberry to name a few. if u don't like the taste of plain yogurt mix the fruit on the bottom so it "coats" all of the yogurt, give it a good swirl. You are eating something healthy while getting a minimal damage sugar fix. It's great for you; it was recommended to me by two different nutritionists. Another great brand of greek yogurt is Fage, it comes with honey, fruit on the side (usually can be found in the organic section of grocery store). Hope this helps!

I add one whole packet of Equal to any of the Chobani yogurts I have and I have found it to be the perfect level of sweetness. Even though the ones I bought have the fruit on the bottom, I need that extra sweetness :)

I love greek yogurt with honey. I love to use plain greek yogurt in place of mayo or sour cream. When I make chicken salad or in place of sour cream in a veggie dip. I love it because calorie count goes down and Protein goes way up!

I could not stand the 0% greek type- but found the Fage strawberry 2% to be pretty good- and honestly its all in the method in my opinion- take a spoon w/ yogurt- then add a little strawberry to the tip. Good Luck!

I have actually added some MIO to the yogurt and it tasted pretty yummy! I was surprised myself. I added the peach/mango flavor. O calories 0 carbs. Yum!

the greek yogurts with added fruit have way too many carbs for my liking, so i get the plain, fat free and add chocolate or Peanut Butter Protein Powder to it. it changes the taste dramatically and makes it much easier to stomach. you may want to try that. one of my employees told me she adds vanilla extract to hers, and it really helps. i haven't tried that yet, though.

I like the Mio idea. I tried Crystal light in it too, not too shabby.

I buy the Dannon Vanilla Greek Yogurt and add a package of equal and stir. Sometimes I also add sugerfree jelly (like a fruit on the bottom idea) I can only do the Dannon Vanilla Greek brand.

I'm with you! I can't stand the taste of plain Greek yogurt. ACK! I started adding a Crystal Light "stick" flavor packet (strawberry, peach, orange) and a little Truvia sweetener. Much better!

I have a horrible sweet tooth so I have to add a package of Equal or Splenda to it....I like the HOney or the fruit on the bottom type. I had a hard time with it too and I'm really struggling trying to do the "right things" good luck

Chobani also has kid flavors that are pretty good, you have to really stir it. banana and honey and berries. I also add some to my portein shake that way I get the extra Protein.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
