Mandy J. & my other awesome supporters- It was a close competition but I did not win. However, I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason, so this was simply not meant to be. I am very optimistic about the future and firmly committed to changing my eating habits slowly, one step at the time. I have not closed the door for a possibility of having a lap band in the future if the circumstances will permit but meanwhile, I will try learn how to listen to my body and know what it truly wants. Thank you from the bottom of my heart you wonderful ladies! I am so very grateful for your time and support. I hope to "see" you all around here! My best to you all!

Sandy1,,Henriikka posted the results right before yours.

I'm so sorry you didn't win but in a way you did. You've met some new friends and we'll be glad to support you in whatever effort you take to lose your weight. This is a lapband forum but we're all having the same struggles so I don't think it matters. So I hope you stick around. I know you can do it. I'm still waiting to hear if I will be able to have the surgery due to health issues..so I may end up with the same outcome as you. I'm not going to let it stop me from reaching my goal and fulfilling my dream. We can push forward together. I wish you the very best. God bless.

Karen, Sorry I guess I didn't have my eyes completely open this morning.

Henriika I was so hoping it would be you. I hope that you are still able to reach your goal and possibly get the surgery VIA another avenue!

I didn't post yesterday simply becouse I didn't know what to say! You are right it just wasn't meant to be at this time! I hope you consider possibly going through the process without the surgery (if that makes since!!) Start with the 2 week pre-op diet then 5 weeks post-op diet then change to eating like a lapband pt. does. I take small everything sips of liquids as well as bites, and wait a minute between each bite. Use a saucer plate to eat off, count all your calories, and chew up everything very well! Don't drink 30 minutes before or after your meal, so that it will stay in your stomach longer, and you stay full longer. I'm sure you know all this! It's just an idea. I do have a band, and have lost lots of wt already, but I don't have much restriction yet. I haven't had any fills, and won't for another 3 weeks! I get hungry, and crave things I can't eat just like I did before. I just deal with it differently now. I try to sip on Water or Protein Shake when I get hungry etc. I just know it's going to work for you somehow!

I just voted for you. How awesome is that that Dr. Kim is doing that. He did my surgery exactly one week ago today. He's the best bariatric surgeon in the DFW area. I also live in Keller. Small world. Maybe we will run into each other at the office. Good luck to you. Keep me posted!!!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
