Not Happy at All...

Recommended Posts

Well, I'm still miserable. I contacted my doctor's office who told me I was probably not chewing well enough OR small enough, and that's really impossible at this point. I'm not sure how I could do either any better than I have this week. If it ain't Soup, it ain't going down.

I am PBing at almost every single meal. I am hardly taking in ANY calories at all, but my scale is still stuck at actually three pounds more than it was a month ago. How can this be, you ask? I do not know. I honestly do not know. I do not "snack" because I can hardly eat to begin with! I am only trying to eat Protein and very few carbs.

I think I actually have to go in for an unfill. What do you think? Is anyone else having this problem? I just want to cry. I am so upset. :( I am so sick of this PBing nonsense! I feel paralyzed. I can't even go out to eat anymore.

Sounds like you might need a small unfill. sounds as if your body is one that will not lose weight if it is getting too little kcals. until you can get your unfill perhaps try some cream based Soups? just to get some carbs and kcal into you? Mix it up with a stew that has been pureed to hell and back? Good luck

Maybe you are still swollen from the fill. I had to be on liquids for three weeks this last fill because my stomach is super sensitive. You might just need to stop worrying about eating right now and get fluids in. Call your doctor on monday

Hi TexasMama ~

I agree with the PPs. It sounds like you might need a tiny unfill, but you should try to get into see your doctor ASAP -- that much PBing would make any bandster upset, worried, and discouraged -- and you've been doing so well with diet and exercise, you shouldn't feel like that. Same as PPs, taking in more calories is probably what you need to do for your health and weight -- if your body thinks it is starving, it will save everything you eat and even gain a little (I've had personal experience with that on LoCal diets). Do you have a favorite Protein shake and/or cream Soup? How about that split pea one you mentioned early on? Just eat slowly, but try to get in your calories -- sip all day if you need to. I know you must be totally fed up. Please try to see your doctor and keep us posted, okay? (((HUGS)))

Thanks everyone! My doc asked me if I could take in liquids and I said yes. He then said he thinks I must be still swollen, and I am wondering if he (and you, fluffytofabulous) isn't right on--because yesterday and today I have had NO PBs and have been able to eat real food. I think this is just going to be such a huge experiment for me, and I'm not going to be able to eat everything, but I do think if I make the right choices I will be okay. I went to Cracker Barrel today and had their Shrimp and Grits (BTW, delicious!) and I cut my shrimp up really small and chewed it well, and had no problem! I had about 4 shrimp, two spoonfuls of grits, and two bites of sliced, grilled, yellow squash. I was even able to have a small bite of cornbread! It was about 200 calories total, I am guessing from looking at calories in shrimp, accounting for the oil, grits, bacon fat LOL. Just delicious!

I am also back down to 275, so almost all my Water weight I gained is gone. Maybe I am on the right track now.

Thanks again for your support. So frustrating.

Havn't been on line for a few days and just saw your note. Sorry that you didn't get support you were seeking right away. I know that you have given it out very often even if its just a sympathetic ear. :) So I agree with what the others said. and your own observations some foods are PB traps (Bread, Oh I Love good bread but not the getting stuck part of it) The weight not droping away fast enough is another part of it. I know my expectations were very high but the surgeon says that at my age 1 pound a week is all I should expect even with all the exercise I do. Well with such a slow weight loss time frame perhaps I won't have to face massive cosmetic surgery, just a small tweek and tuck. .

Anyway, keep up that chin and please continue to be so supportive of us others out here it's appreciated very much.

Best Wishes

BigTom (I guess for longer than I had hoped for)

I haven't been online for a while. Sorry to hear of the frusteration that you had gone through but am very glad to hear that it seems to be over.

YEAH ON BEING DOWN 20!!! How awesome is that?!?! My weight loss is going backwards, lol, very slow, so I know that 20 is a huge marker!!! Keep it up!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
