Hi going to my 1st seminar toniight! and scheduled the dreaded colonoscopy, as I am over 50. I live in Clearwater but work in Tpa by the airport. My ins will pay all but deductible, but I am hearing there is a

$1000 fee you must pay for, is this true ? I hear TBH also has some $750 fee. I want to know the true cost, as I spend what I make just living. I am going to see if dr aguila is on my ins plan. Is there a support group in Tampa? anyone have trouble getting thier GP to sign off on the letter saying you MUST have the surgery?

so many questions, but I rather hear from one already been there n done that.

I live in Clearwater. Dr. Gonsalvo was my surgeon. He charges a $500 admin fee that isn't covered by insurance; $250 due at the first visit and $250 due the visit prior to surgery. I had a co-pay of $225 for the out-patient hospital. Other then the office visit co-pays, those were the only out-of-pocket expenses I incurred.

I have to see if he takes my insurance, but the ins co itself promotes pasadena hospt, st pete, so they are the preferred drs. in eitehr case i was approved by "carecredit" for the fee, so I am good to GO!!!

now the procees of the visits and tests and insurance approvals. and I do worry bout my GP writing that letter.

My surgeon will only fill my band every two months, which means it's taken me 4 months to get two fills. Does anyone have a recommendation for another fill doctor in Tampa? I don't want to wait another two months before I get good restriction!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
