Post Tummy Tuck - Pudgy Pubic Area???

Recommended Posts

Okay I am 2 weeks Post TT. I am overall so much happier with how I look. I can't wait to get my drains out next week. (I hope) My biggest concern at this point is a pudgy pubic area. I am not tiny. I carry my weight well but still am in the 180's I am (before surgery) a size 12 for the most part. I was worried about how pudgy my pubic area was before surgery but my doc said that would improve after. I feel like he could have done a better job spreading out the area under my surgical suture line. Am I worrying over nothing? Is this swelling that will get better? Is this something I have to live with or get fixed later?

Can you share your experience with this?

Thank you!

Julie

Some of the sutures can take up to 75 days to dissolve and those pucker areas very well may smooth out. Don't make any final judgements for a few months. I will warn you that after my TT when I was unfilled and gained wt, I got really chubby "down there" and my thighs got huge...nice flat tummy, though!!!!

Julie:

It might have to do with gravity. Your swelling could be dropping to the lowest point of your abdomen. My doctor did some Lipo in that area when I had my Tummy Tuck and it's not chubby anymore :)

Give it some time, or complain to the surgeon that you're not happy with that area and could he do some lip there?

Good luck.

Sue

Thanks to both of you. I will try to be patient but let him know that is a concern of mine. By the way my surgeon didn't require an unfil. Actually none of the surgeons I interviewed required an unfil. I'm so glad!

A LOT COULD BE SWELLING, I HAD THAT "KEN DOLL" LOOK FOR ABOUT A MONTH

OMG that is so funny. A perfect way to put it. My doctor said if by the end of the summer if after the swelling goes down I still have an issue with it then he will Lipo the area.

Thanks so much!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
