I am noticing that alot of sucessful lap bandsters are saying they didn't feel any real restriction until the fourth fill. good luck to you I wish u the best.

Thanks Starimagine...It's comforting to know I'm not alone. Godd luck on your next fill hope it helps you..fingers crossed...lol! Oh they told me my band is the larger one it hold 14 cc's and they never go to that number. So I have 9 now I'm getting close to 14 .

Long time no see!!! But here I am, it's been really hard… I've had a LOT of "stuck" episodes, but all my fault of course, I was 230 lbs the day of the surgery, know I'm 190 lbs… :) I was banded on 03/05/11.

I've been working out with a personal trainer 3 days a week and doing cardio the other days, but saturday, that's my gift to myself!! heheheheh

I'm still trying to figure it out, the chewing is a big problem for me, I fell like all the problem I had so far are all MY fault and not the band, I'm still getting used to the way I'm suppose to eat.

But let me tell ya, if I had to go through it every day to fell how I fell know… I'd do it!!! biggrin.gif

I fell GREAT!!! Tomorrow I have another fill appointment, and hopefully that will help me with some of the issues !!!

Hope every one is doing good!!

Hi all,

Congrats to everyone who is on their journey!!

I have been off the boards for a while mostly because of lots of stress and a busy life!!! My weight loss has been s l o w! I even gained 3 lbs at one time! This was with eating 1,000 calories a day. I just didn't exercise that week!!! I can relate to the person that sees their weight change daily! I need to be more motivated to exercise, but at this time I am hoping I have the right amount of Fluid in my band. I went to the MD two weeks ago for a fill, he put 2 cc's in it, for a total of 3 cc's. I felt fine for the first week but this second week has been filled with tons of stress. I have a sick cat (sorry Marcy for your loss I can relate now), we are having major family issues, and work is crazy). I am also getting over a cold and my sinus' are acting up. So I feel real tight!!! I also got stuck last Thursday!

I am not feeling really hungry, but when the stress level comes down I do eat and it goes down fine (the lap band approved foods) I feel if I go to my surgeon he isn't going to listen to me and he is just going to take out fluid!!! I might cancel the appt. today and get papaya enzyeme and pineapple juice to see if that helps.

The good news is I am losing again!!!!

I've switched to paleo, eating more and still loosing weight. Last week was our first week of 100%, no dairy or grains, lots of meat, veggies, eggs, fruit, nuts and coconut oil and I saw a lose every day. Going on vacation this week, so hoping I don't gain any back.

Thanks everyone for the support. I definitely need to set some summer goals. I want to get out more and not stay in the house watching tv during my days off. I want to find various social events in the area to participate in. I will take some pictures of how I look now and put them on my profile.

I was trying to congratulate you, but messed up the post. Your weight loss is incredible. I hope I can post 100lbs loss in the future.

I was banded on Mar 15,,, went to see the dr on June 29,,, 45.3 pounds lost,,,I was really pleased,,,so was my dr. I had my first fill a month ago,,, 6 cc at that time,,, he added 1/2 cc more and said it sounded that I was pretty close to where I needed to be. I know that my next 55 pounds won't go nearly as fast,,, but I am really encouraged!!!

So sorry to hear you are frustrated. I know your frustration!! I am also frustrated at times. I am doing everything right. eating the right foods, evercising...blah blah blah and the weight isn't coming off like everyone elses!!! I should be (if I lost 2-3 lbs wk) down 20 lbs. less then what I am now!!! Just hang in there.

I know I have a s l o w metabolism. I am going to try and detoxify and eat whole foods!!! We shall see!!!

Good luck!

Hold on Grni77!

I too am at 10. cc in a 14 cc band. I've only lost 18 pounds so far. I was also very frustrated specially when I see all the weight others are loosing here.

After my fill at 10.cc it took about 10 days before I was in my right spot. I don't know why it's working this way. So just wait a few days and maybe it will work like mine as. I think I am really in the right spot this time. Hoping now to see some weight come off.

Good luck.

I've stopped losing and am even at about -28 now (was at -32). I've had so much stress lately between the dang pets, the kids being home for the summer, my IL's, my husband and his mental issues/job issues, and my own job issues. You all know we've lost 3 cats in the past few months...now our corgi puppy has 2 broken ribs from my hubby tripping over him, a tapeworm, and we added 4 ducks to the family. Oy. My job issues are settlign down but DH's job issues/mental health issues are worsening. I'm not tryign to find excuses, but I had thought maybe all this stress had caused me to be horrible when it coems to my eating. I've fallen into a pattern of eating really bad for me stuff: chocolate, Cookies, chips, etc. I stopped counting my Protein and know I am at a major low Protein intake. Every day I tell myself "tomorrow I'll do better" and tomorrow comes and I don;t do better. So, I got online and discussed it with the support group manged by the clinic I had surgery at. Their nurse practioner is so awesome...she seems ot have nailed my problem. She thinks I'm too tight. Of course the stress and mental hunger is something I have to get control of, but when I really looked at my diet what she said rings so true. It's so difficult for me to eat the foods I should be eating...ie meats, even tender ones with chewing so well. I've been dreading meal times cause I know it'll be a struggle. I opt for soft carbs like mashed potatoes, stay away from the protein and veggies I should be eating. Even ground beef & turkey and Beans are hard to keep down.

So, the next few days I'm going to try to at least omit the junk food and I go in Monday to see the nurse practitioner and have some Fluid removed.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
