For the past two weeks I havent lost one pound!! I had my first fill back on March 2nd and dropped about 20lbs in two weeks. I had a check up on the 16th and told them I didnt think I needed a fill because I was doing so awesome!! But NOW!! I have been stuck for 2 weeks and I'm working my butt off at the gym and eating all my Protein, very little fat and less than 1000 calories a day!! What is going on!?! How can I break through this platuea???? Please help!!

Maybe try eating more. 1000 calories with exercise is generally not enough. Your body needs 600-700+ calories just to function. Do the math :) Otherwise, know that fills don't guarantee weight loss, so resorting to one shouldn't be your first option. Look at what your eating and tweak some things.

Be patient. The slower it comes off, the easier to keep it off.

Joy, I just went from 13+ pound loss in one month, to 1.6 pounds the next month! I still didn't want a fill because I get a little tighter during my period so I told the dr. I would wait it out for another 2 weeks. I've lost 4 pounds since then! I didn't change anything. While I agree with what everyone has said so far, I think that's just the way the body is, especially after a big loss, it wants to protect itself and hang on to its stores. Don't worry, your loss will pick back up! Just stay positive because you know you are making yourself healthier!

I would agree that 1000 calories isn't enough in a day, especially if it's every day. Are you getting enough Water? It won't hurt to eat 1200 or even 1400 for a day or two and see what happens... Good luck, you can make it through this!

You won't gain eating 1,200 calories..especially if you're working out. Eating more calories doesn't mean you need to engorge in a whole new meal. snack on almonds throughout the day. 24 almonds is 160-170 calories. Eat a cheese stick; something. A fill won't make you lose weight.

Also if you aren't tracking your calories, start tracking them now as you may be overeating as well. It's hard to mentally calculate those numbers.

Good luck.

Sometimes after a big loss in a short period, the body seems to need a "readjustment" period. This happens to me every month-- nothing nothing nothing, boom 5lbs. And then it starts over again. That was particularly true right after surgery, where I dropped so much in such a short period of time-- I probably went 3 weeks after my first big loss without losing another pound.

Given some time, you'll notice your body's pattern of losing and these stalls after big losses will be old hat, nothing to worry about.

Reverie - can you please use a decent size font and change the color of the one you are using

It is too small and difficult to read (for some people)

I like your comments but mostly now have to brush past them as my tired old eyes have difficulty

Stick to the standard Arial size 2 and I think eveyone will be happy

^^THIS^^. You also have to keep in mind that you've just delivered your body a big shock. You've lowered your calories *and* fat *and* you're exercising. Be patient and just keep doing what you're doing.

You aren't going to lose every week. You may not even lose for a month. Just be patient.

And dont forget to measure yourself. Sometimes you can be losing inches without losing pounds. The scale doesn't tell the WHOLE story.

I bumped up my exercise quite a bit (doing kickboxing) and I feel I am not getting enough calories (sometimes I don't even get to 1200, and I think I need 1400). So what I am going to be trying this week is drink a 8 oz powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein shake once a day (usually after kickboxing) it is 190 calories when made with milk. I was told no liquid calories, but I gotta try something else to make the scale move.

Even when the scale says I'm not losing weight, I am usually losing inches. If you go to the gym and work out, you might be converting fat to muscle, which is heavier than fat. I've only lost a couple of pounds in the last month or so, but a whole size in clothes. Keep up the exercise and watch your carbs and good things will happen.

I am going thru the same thing have not lost a freeking lbs since feb 21,2011 had my surgery on Jan 24th down 21 lbs total. I am getting frustrated tomorrow I will be getting my second fill. Reading the forums makes me feel a little better because I see in not alone and what I am going thru does happen. I think I will go back to basics sigjh... It can be so hard to keep your spirits up, but looking at my port scar helps me keep going. It took a lot of hard work to get my surgery approved so I have to remember to keep going. rolleyes.gif

You didn't gain it in a month, so you're not going to lose it in a month. Lap-band is a slow process, and is the slowest of all the surgical procedures, but it is reversible which is why I chose it - something about destroying a perfectly good digestive system just doesn't sit right with me. I knew going into it that I had to give it at least a year. I have a cousin who opted for bypass, because she's impatient and wanted the fastest loss possible. When I went to the pre-surgery classes they warned us and said that if you want immediate results lap band is not for you. I have to keep reminding my mother about this. My cousin had her surgery years before I had mine, and my mom expects me to lose as fast as she did, but it's not going to happen, and nothing I can say will get my mom to understand that. So what if I go a couple of weeks without a loss, as long as I don't gain? There are other ways to measure my progress. Like the pair of non-elastic waist jeans that 3 weeks ago I could get on but were just short of being uncomfortably snug, which I can now slide down without unbuttoning.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
