At A Loss as to What Surgeon to Use in NY/NJ

Hi all,

I've decided to get the lap band and am taking the steps to do so.

I saw one surgeon in Port Monmouth, the nutritionist, etc. Everything was included and they said I'd only pay about 5% of what Medicare doesn't cover. The only thing is the surgeon is not as experienced as some others.

I considered going to Dr. Fielding at NYU and also seeing Dr. Abkin in Morristown, I have appointments with each.

But I have found out I have to pay over $700 for the nutrionist and psch eval and I was told by other patients that Medicare will only cover 80% of the surgery bill. I have to pay the other 20% for the rest of the surgery.

I'm not working, so I just don't have it.

I don't know what to do. :-(

I am feeling really poorly lately too. I have developed sleep apnea as the weight increases and really feel the need to get this as soon as I can.

Need advice
