Freecycle Do you?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone belong to their local freecycle group? If not why not? It is a great way to recycle items (about anything) you don't want or need. You can also request items. It is totally free! Plus it saves tons of good stuff from going to the landfill. To join just go to www.freecycle.org and sign up to join your local chapter. :)

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Looked up freecycle.org, and it is a wonderful idea! I will be recommending this to quite a few folks! HOW AWESOME!

I'm a member of my local group but haven't ever given or received anything. It's really neat! I love the idea and plan to use it to give away some baby things, unless anyone here needs a changing table?!!! I'm all about passing along the blessings.

We *love* Freecycle -- great way to declutter your house or "upgrade" items without throwing away things that are still in decent condition. We tend to do it with larger items though (smaller stuff gets dropped in the box for thrift shop).

We've also gotten a couple things we needed on there too. Highly recommended!

I am a member but got turned off by a few people who are obviously surfing for things to sell in our local group. I did unload lots of my too-big clothes, but the idea that someone else is selling them and making money bugged me. Not that it was happening, so much, but that the person was deceitful about it.

Like everything else, Freecycle is as good as the people in it. My local group ain't what it could be.

I think it is the best invention since bread! I needed a wheelchair for two of the gentlemen I take care of and was able to get them from someone who no longer needed them. I have donated furniture, clothes old computers etc. I love it.:)

I do it too! I have given away lots of things (big things) I would otherwise have thrown out! I haven't been quick enough yet to ask for the things listed there though.

I just joined lastnight, actually, because I need to find new homes for a lawn mower, fridge, washer & dryer, etc. I was going to put them out on bulky trash day until a friend told me about freecycle.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
