Was banded yesterday morning 3/2/11. Things are going well. I'm up and about drinking fluids, not much pain, just at the port incision site. Walking helps a lot and oddly have no hunger.

Wish you well on your journey. I will be banded on 3\8\2011 and i will be right there with you.

\I find it interesting that you are not hungry. I wonder if that is very common for most? I have my surgery on the 15th of March. Best wishes to you during your healing time!

I was banded 3/4/11. So far so good, just have gas pains and it's sore where the port was sewn onto my muscle wall. It was hard to get all the Protein down today that I was supposed to. How is everyone else doing?

I was banded on 3/1/11 and then immediately came down with bronchitis. The coughing and my bowl full of jelly stomach has caused my port site to be SOOOOOO sore. I find that if I sit with poor posture, it aggravates the port site worse. I also find myself holding my port when I walk to lessen the pain. Other than that, no problems besides the fact that it's hard to get all the Protein in without mixing the unflavored protein into everything!

Thanks for posting... looking forward to seeing how everyone's doing post-op! My surgery is scheduled for the 29th (rescheduled from the 1st). I'm nervous, but excited too. Keep the updates coming! :)

Greetings all. I was just banded on March 7th and I feel great :Banane01:. No pain at all and looking forward to exercising again soon. Not sure when I will be eating solid food but am doing well on the post op diet. Have had some hunger but not overpowering though. Protein helps with the hunger. On full liquids currently. Will find out Monday when I have my post-op appointment when I can progress to solid foods.

Cheers :Banane34:

I was banded 03/07/2011. Doctor put me on liquids for 10 days after surgery. Amazingly, I was not physically hungry at all. However, at around day 8 I began to have physchological hunger, even though I was not physically hungry. Recovery has been really smooth so far, thankfully. I did have one mishap when I tried to eat a piece of chicken breast during the mooshie phase. It was SO painful, but after a couple days of liquids I felt fine again. Looking forward to my first fill. Good luck to all the "Marchies" and everyone.

Congrats!!! I was banded 3/15 and just recently started to get hungry every once in a while but a Protein Drink usually helps the cravings.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
