Hi! I have a date set for April 13th. I'm trying to work my way through this whole pre-op diet! Any tips appreciated!

I'm scheduled for the 13th too! I'm voluntarily doing liquids (day 2) and it's not easy but not nearly as tough as I thought it was going to be.

Hi Kayla! My name is Tina, and I live in Bedford, Tx so we're almost next door neighbors. I don't have a date set yet, but they told me mid to end of April. It's kinda comforting to know there's someone really close going through it too. Do you have anyone to exercise with? By exercise I mostly mean walking for now. Maybe we can help each other through this?

Hi, Tina! I didn't think I would find someone in Bedford getting banded as well! Awesome! Are you going through True Results? I haven't started exercising yet, lol... although I should  . I'm thinking about opening a gym membership somewhere. Maybe 24HF. I used to go to LA Fitness, but I didn't like it very much.

Thanks Paula. I had my surgery yesterday at 9am. I'm still very sore, but my abdominal gas dissipated within the first 24 hours. I have been on my pain meds and sleeping about 3 hours, waking up for an hour, then back to sleep another 3 hours.

I made the mistake of trying to drink some Unjury chicken flavored Protein last night - it came right back up and let me tell you, that was not fun. Learned my lesson though ;) Ice chips rock, been using those for two days and also an ice pack on my stomach. I don't have any appetite at all, but my hubby is always working to get me to drink some apple juice or crytal light. I haven't had any issues other than just feeling like someone hit me in the stomach 100 times :) But it's manageable.

Good luck to everyone about to have surgery this month! I think this is a great thing we are doing for ourselves :)

As of today I am back on the band wagon. After a rough start I was finally able to get my new band date - April 18.

My journey to date:

Feb 21 first surgery scheduled ....

Everything went as planned

UNTIL

I went under for the procedure ... Dr makes a small incision on my left side (precaution as I have had previous surgery and the extent of scarring was unknown).

My heart rate dropped as soon as the gas inflated my abdomen.

Dr releases some of the pressure and heart rate returned

Dr once again started the procedure and this time my heart stopped .... med was used to restart the heart

once again the Dr started the procedure and my heart stopped for 14 secs ....

Procedure cancelled

Dr referred me to Cardiologist

My heart gets a clean bill of health and a GO ... I have what is called neuromediated syncopy (and my heart rate drops with pain instead of raising)

Now mind you I have had many many surgeries and I guess I just got too cocky thinking I would breeze through it .....

During the work up it was determined that I would need a hysterectomy due to fibroids. scar tissues, and adhesions.

Went in to do this and guess what ... I wasn't able to be done as the damage was beyond my surgeons ability. So once again wake up with the incision and nothing to show for it ...

I ended up with pneumonia while in the hospital recovering from ... NOTHING!

So I call today with the clearance from my cardiologist, gynocologist, and primary ....

My husband is in the military and due to be gone most of May - so they told me to start the diet tomorrow and we will do the surgery on the 18th.

Trying very hard not to think ... three strikes you are out ....

But I definitely am not cocky anymore!

Grace

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
