One Month After Lap Band Removal: My Results

Recommended Posts

Hi Cheryl, I had my band out last week and am doing fine. It really wasn't horrible at all. A little pain now at the port site, but nothing too bad.

You might want to check out greysheet to help you with some of the emotional eating problems. I struggled even with the band but found that I got my eating, and then my weight under control only once i dealt with the actual eating problem.

Good luck, will be thinking of you.

Daniel

I had to have my lap band removed in emergency surgery due to slippage. I am very upset I have lost 140 lbs and reached my goal weight. I am extremely nervous about gaining the weight back. Surgeon could not replace the band due to my stomach being in a delicate situation. My insurance company only pays for one gastric procedure and effective Jan. 1st will no longer pay for any gastric surgeries! Guess I am out of luck and will have to try and maintain this loss on my own. Feeling very dishearted and worried at the moment-but it beats a perf stomach! Willing to accept any suggestions on obstacles anyone else has faced going through a similar situation.

Thank you for posting such a positive message.

I'm in the UK and I had my band removed on Sunday and had been dreading it. But prior to surgery the very thought that I could continue and feel full after band removal spurred me on.

I'm going to try some of your ideas!

Good luck and thanks again.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
