I had my surgery on April 11, 2008 and have been fighting to get into Onderland for a while now and once I was in it I made myself wait to post that I was actually in it since I can vary in weight throughout the day and in a week. I have been in onderland for a month now and I am down to 193.4!!!! It has been a bumpy ride at times but well worth it! At my highest known weight I was 447 and I now weigh less than the total weight I lost before and after surgery 253.4!

Thank you to Dr. Felts and his staff and all of the people in my life who have supported me. My goal weight is 165, which is still overweight but I am and will be a much healthier person. :-)

WOW!!! That is amazing. You are quite the inspiration to everyone. I can't imagine the motivation and willpower it took to get where you are. Heck, I don't even know you and I am proud of you!!! I can't imagine losing more than you actually way, you've lost more than half of you!!!

You look beautiful in your picture and when I start feeling challenged, I'll think of your success. I still have 54 pounds to hit onederland but when I do, there will be a big party in my house!!! Great job!!! :D

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
