Back to being good...

Recommended Posts

I am getting ready to head out for fill #3.

I have needed this one for a while, but was a bad girl to wait so that I could enjoy my holidays (meaning holiday foods). The holidays are gone so it's time to get back on track with the band.

My weight loss has been slowing down to about 5lbs a month so it's time. :)

Hopefully I've lost enough weight that they don't have to dig for my port. :P

Good luck with your fill. I get my first one on Friday.

Where's your port that they have to dig? Mine is between my boobs and if they have to dig I'm in trouble.

Eileen, I ain't gonna tough that one....LOL

Carrie, congratulations on making it through the holidays. I can't believe that my DW (the pecan pie queen) made it through without ANY solid food. One week out, one week till her first Dr follow-up.

Good thread! Back to being good for all of us. I didn't enjoy too many holiday goodies this year since I learned I had erosion. Once you know your band is eroded, you get kind of queazy and are afraid to risk overeating. I guess my erosion saved any gain.

But here I am, almost recovered from band removal and on my first day of counting calories. I get 1200 a day, which scares the pants off me. That's about how much falls on the floor while cooking! 1200 isn't much, but I have to make it work. I don't ever want to see 315 pounds again. That wasn't living.

Lisa, your right 1200 is very little, its the reason most people have a hard time losing weight. On the other hand, you can get more bang for your buck by knowing what foods you'll get more of w/less calories.

For instance, you can eat more low fat popcorn than potato chips. There's a book called Volumetrics and thats what it teaches. Good luck. I'm glad your feeling better ( and stay away from that wacko chick in your office ). Hugs !

Why Randy, what ever do you mean ROFLMFAO !!! :D Thats so cool your wife made it thru the holidays. Congratulations Mrs. Pecan Pie Queen ;)

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
