We've been to one of those "fun" pots parties, and we spent way too much money. They are great pots, but we went wwwaaayyy overboard!

I REALLY wish I could go tomorrow! It's not that I want to skip my little boy's party or anything, I just want to do both! Oh well, I guess I'll just have to wait until February. I hope you all have a great time!

Kim sorry to hear about your throat. That isnt a fun feeling. My Daughter just got through with strep throat and it was a pretty bad case, but she is much better now.

Glad to hear Curtis is feeling better. Hopefully them tubes will help him out a bunch and he will get to start hearing better and start talking clearly. I wonder if that what my middle child needed but she didnt get that many ear infections. She talks a lot better now but it took her a while. Who will ever know?

Thanks for the compliment Kim. :) I do feel so good since I got that organ out of me. I recovered really well and to look back on it I think I was silly to be so nervous about it. :)

Thanks for a great lunch on Saturday everyone. I had a great time and it was so good to see all my shrinking friends! :) Keep it up you all are doing great and we all looked so much happier. :)

XOXO,

Angie

I know!!! You all were waaaay down at the other end of the table. I almost wish we had a room, where we could circle up after lunch and go around, give updates on everyone. LOL

I guess that's what Chat is for, but it's nice to talk to everyone while we are there. I really enjoy our lunches.

Melissa e-mailed me the individual pic of me she took from her camera. Sad to say, I was horrified and dissappointed. Kind of like when I'd see pics of myself (such as the "fat pics" I posted on my NSV thread...ya'll remember the ones...) and I'm shocked because I don't realize how bad I look!

Okay, so I look BETTER than I did, but it's the kick in the butt I need to get hard on myself with my diet and exercise. It has recently sunk in that I have been banded almost 10 !!! months. Where did the time go?!

I want to have lost 50 pounds by my one year bandiversary. So I got to get crackalackin' on the next 17 pounds. I weighed an even 190.0 this morning. Ugh.

17 more pounds. 17 more pounds. Gotta make the donuts. 17 more pounds.

:)

OK folks, it's unusually quiet at work today, so I'm sneaking on when no one is looking.

I too thoroughly enjoyed lunch on Saturday!

John and I bowl on our church Winter league. I had the best series I've ever bowled in all my life. My high game was a 230 (295 after my 65 pin handicap)! I've never bowled that well before ... ever! I don't know if I'll ever be able to do it again, but it was a ton of fun!

Glad curtis is feeling better, Kristen went to the doc this morning and its officially the flu....We have went through the gament of illnesses this January...its got to stop. Yeah on getting into a 18, I have a couple of 20's I found that if anyone wants give a yell.

Kathy your picture doesn't look bad. Geez...we are all too critical of ourseleves. I couldn't see a difference till I found a old picture and put it side by side with saturdays. The difference is still not shocking unfortantly, but I can tell at least.

Karen, I still have yours and Dianes picture I think to email...Kim I wish we had of gotten you before you left. Send me a message you guys with a email I can send the pictures and I'll send them along.

I've discovered how to edit and do the side by sides so if anyone wants to put a side by side together for them let me know.

Kathy just email the pictures you want to use and I'll do it. Its not that hard, its kinda fun.

Thanks Kim, It helps to have the side by side to see the difference, it hard to see when we look in the mirror.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
