January 25 2011!!!!!!!!! Finally after months and months and months of never ending hoops I was finally approved this morning for surgery! Jan 25th will be the day I start my new life toward a healthier me! I go for my preop class blood work and to get my two week diet replacements on wends 12th! I can't wait! I am so nervous and excited all at once! I pray I have the strength and will power that I need to be successful! Is anyone else doing surgery on this date? I would love to have someone to talk to through this...

Congratulations! I don't share your surgery date but I was just banded on December 13th, so I'm just starting this journey too. I hope everything goes smoothly for you.

Rachel...congrats on finally getting your surgery date and also for taking the steps to get banded and onto a healthier YOU. Don't start this journey doubting success. Tell yourself you can do this. Follow the rules your doc has set up for you. Good luck!

Yay! Me too me too! We share a surgery date. I'm so nervous and excited all at the same time! Mostly nervous about the pre-op diet. Good lord 10 days of liquid only?! I have spreadsheet created to help me remember what I "have" to "eat" and what I can eat/drink at any time. I plan to put a rubber band around my wrist and any time I feel like cheating I'll snap the rubberband. OUCH! But it helps me break from the almost obsessive need to eat. January 25. Here we come!

Me too! January 25th. I'm terrified. A little for the surgery but mostly that I will not be successful after taking such extreme measures. It would be great to keep in touch with other Jan 25th bandsters. I start my pre-op diet January 12th.

Congratulations! My date is set for Feb 3rd and I start the liquid diet on Jan 20. Good luck to all. I've been looking into it for about 5 - 6 years. I think I'm finally coming to grips with thinking I'm a failure because I haven't been able to keep it off on my own. I just need to get on with it. - Julia

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
