  1. Thanks for the posts- I am getting excited and want that surgery date really bad...

Got my approval for the surgery but don't have a date yet- still going thru the tests- I have quit caffeine and wow the headaches suck- I started walking just trying to get into a little shape before surgery- This is a long process-but I know that it will be worth it - I have seen alot of blogs regarding smoking and I to am a smoker but my Dr knows and says that it is my decision and doesn't want me to give up everything all at once-I am trying to cut down though-

Had my follow up today regarding the phych dr. i had to take that computer test-300 and some questiions- well he told me that I scored like a 99 and they like to see you in a range of around 50 -so he continues to tell me that my personality doesn't match the test- (WTH) So he wants me to see his partner and see what he thinks- I am just lost-has anyone ever had this happen to them- He kept saying that getting the lap band is so much more mental- I tried to tell him I used to be very thin and built- not used to this weight- I guess if I was never thin it would be diff for me- but I have been there before so I don't get what he meant my MENTAL

Tami My surgery will prob be at the end of this month i am hoping- i have gone thru alot of test and now just down the nutrisionist next week- i would love to chat with you -i joined this site and its been great-alot of people are very helpful-i still have alot of questions and am getting nervous - but keeping a positive attitude is the key...Carol

I have been on this site for a few days now and have talked to a few people and everyone has a diff story- My biggest concern is me being alone- Do I really need someone here or can I do this on my own- I should be having my surgery end of Jan God wiling... Should I start liquid diet soon- Have had only 1 visit with surgeon but been every place else- phych dr-pulmanologis-sleep clinic- and next week nutritionist. I watched a lap band surgery on U Tube which didn't seem to bother me-quite interesting.. Any help would be appreciated. Carol

April, I am new to this site too-but alot of people have h- elped me thru- I haven't been banded yet-hopefully the end of this month-I am nervous and excited at the same time- My husband is away for the Military and I will be alone-no one here to take care of me or anything which is why I am nervous but I need this-my family is far away but still support me the best they can- You have done an amazing job -be proud of that and who you are-

Julie I should be having my surgery at the end of this month- I am still very confused as to what to expect-I don't comprehend things well maybe lol- like what will happen during the surgery -the after what i will be able to drink- and what kinds of pain meds do they give you...I hate taking pills... any info you give me would be appreciated have a blessed day
  8. Thanks Judy, are you having your surgery soon...or have you had it- would love to know- Hope that all works out for you -Good Luck.! Not nervous about the sleep apnea just the surgery- and then being alone right after- just hope I don't need anyone around to take care of me. God Bless!!

Just finished my visit with a pulmanologist and found that I have sleep apnea-need to go do a sleep study night at hospital before they can schedule my surgery- I am very nervous and excited all the time-I just want to get started but I am scared about the surgery and after- my husband won't be here so I will be alone and don't know if I need to hire someone to take care of me or not. Anyhhelp or advise would be greatly appreciated...
  10. I have had my visit with my Dr. and my therapist and the found that I have sleep apnea-so I have to do sleep study before surgery..I can't wait and am so excited to have it done-probably in Jan...a little nervous about surgery...When is your big day? Hope all goes well..God Bless
