January 2011 Bandsters....??

Recommended Posts

I am hoping and praying for January! Otherwise I won't be able to get it until the next time I have some time off from school in March! That's way too far away!

I'm sooo excited! I'm scheduled for January 18th!!! I've been thinking about it several times during the day. Oddly enough, I feel like I need to get my projects done. Do you know that feeling? For once in my life, the Christmas cards were out early, all of the gifts are purchased and those that have arrived are wrapped?!?

Last night as I was lying in bed, I sucked in my belly and smiled at the thought of it being gone by next year!!!

Can I share a secret? I bought a really cute size 8 SLEEVELESS shirt! It's the first 'small' thing that I've bought. I may not be able to wear it summer of 2011, maybe summer 2012.

Off to do laundry...

Hey Carolyn! I know what you mean about getting things done... I feel the same way! Although I am still kind of frozen in the overwhelmed stage... lol I CANNOT WAIT to shop for clothes and not DREAD it!!!

I am all set for Jan 4th, my pre-op H&P is set for this Thursday.

I am very excited as well as a lil nervous. I am praying for the best and know that God will keep me. This surgery is a great thing happening for me!

I start my pre-op - clear liquid diet on Dec 28th...I guess no collard greens for me on New Year's Day

Looks like we have the same surgery date! I'm booked for the 4th also. You're so lucky that you don't have to start your pre-op until after Christmas. I am so stressed on how I'm going to make it through Christmas. It will be nice to have someone to go through this with and hope that we can support each other though this!

Hi everyone I am new to this site, but I am finding it very helpful. My surgery date is Jan 3rd. I have to be on Optifast for 10 days before surgery :( Any ideas on how to get through the holidays with just drinking those shakes?

Well, my surgery date is Jan 11th. =) I have never been more nervous AND excited about anything in my life. I put on my scrubs for work in the morning and feel so uncomfortable in them. It only reminds me that soon it will be melting away. My mom just gave me her old exercise bike and I'm starting to work out now to get in better shape after the lap-band. =D I start my Liquid Protein diet Dec 28th and it will be two weeks long. =( I'm gonna have to say goodbye to Alfonsos, Taco Bell, Mickey D's......BUT I CAN DO IT!

By the way,

getting through the Holidays will be difficult for the handfull of you that will be drinking the shakes during, I am sorry but the only advice I have is to stay strong. I keep telling myself I'm not going to go through surgery just to ruin everything by eating unhealthily. Maybe you can have that attitude while drinking your shakes. You know, you WILL lose weight from being on that liquid diet, so if you think about it as the beginning of your weight loss journey maybe it will be easier for the lot of you to be motivated and stay on track.

Best of luck all!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
