I also have the letters that i wrote to my ins. company if you would like them. I received them from a lady i met on this forum that was also denied. One is a personal plea, the other is explaining my medical side of it.

I to was denied the first time, so i wrote a letter to appeal it also had a letter that my Dr. wrote up. Explaining that i had dieted and tried many diets in the past. Sent it in and got approved. I was not at the B.M.I. index that was necessary for the surgery but net the sleep apnea and high cholesterol and blood pressure.

first of all i was deciding about banding, finding out all the info on it. Then i got approved i to looked at all the info on both, i was leaning toward the realize. Then i talked to my doctor and he does both. I looked at both and decided to go with the lap band. I am 1 year and 3 months after being banded and am 3 lbs. from my goal. I have lost 64 lbs and weigh 147. When it comes down to it you get to make your own decision. GOOD LUCK to you.

Good job, I have lost 64 lbs. I feel great. I am wearing a size 5/6 and weigh 145. I have to tell you though sometimes i get stuck on what to eat. It feels nice to go to my closet and wear anything in there, and sometimes it's to big.

I'm 7 months out and what's us with my throat noises?

Are you getting in your 60 - 80 grams of Protein in a day?

I was banded on the 10th, so far i have lost 45 lbs. I have a 10 cc lap band in with a 6 cc fill, so far so good. I have 25 lbs. to go, there are days i got discouraged from not loosing more than i did but kept a positive attitude. Just remember even loosing 1 lb a week is good. Set small goals and they will turn into your long term ones. I missed pizza chips and pop at first, but not anymore.

When I went for my first fill she said I had a 10cc band. They had filled it 2.5 cc when I had the surgery and added another 2.5 m y first fill. I was banded the 10th of march so far I am down 30lbs. Go get my second fill next Wed.

as per my Dr. yes clear liquids for 24 hrs.then full liquids 2 days, if ok then mushy food for 2-3 days then back to reg food. If theres any problems then go back to liquids for a few days.

I went for my first fill on the 20th. Just had to sit up like a crunch. took 5 seconds to fill and of i went already had 2.5 cc in my band filled 2.5 more. As of today still eating mushy foods. I have no appetite at all. lost 4 lbs in three days. This is all new to me but learning as i go.

Went for my first fill today was down three lbs. from last visit. I was banded on 3/10/11 down a total of 23 lbs. I go back 5/25/11 for next fill. Found out i have a standard band (that is 10 cc) when they did the surgery they filled my band with 2.5 cc added another 2.5 today so far so good.

I was banded on 3/10/11 and started the liver reduction diet two weeks prior so far i'm down 21lbs. I'm so excited first fill 4/13/11.
