Let's Be Thankful...

Apples, that is the first time I saw you pre-band! WOW! Kinda reminds me of me! I think of all the people here, you my friend are my best inspiration!

You are really a beautiful person, and now you reflect on the outside what you are on the inside!

Is not that what we are really trying to do?

Love, Love

~Kelly~

Well thanks, Kelly. I am truly humbled. There was a time that I could not even look at those pictures. Now I can look and KNOW that was somebody else...truly was.

I'm thankful for another chance at a longer, healthier life.

I'm definitely thankful for my band! Without it I'd most definitely be gaining weight and limiting myself and my life.

I'm extremely extremely extremely thankful for my mom who has been so helpful during the process. She has been here each step of the way for me, from the pre-op consultation to now. She exercised with me in the beginning so I didn't feel so alone and lost weight herself (not that she is overweight) She is always complimenting me and has even eaten some of the healthier cooking that I do. We tend to fight over the spaghetti squash now. :)

I'm also thankful for my coworkers. Many of them know I'm banded (or at least 'dieting' and working out) and they are all very supportive.

And of course I'm very thankful for this board! It has been helpful to read posts from band vets and to get answers anytime you need one.

Reverie...you are not the only one to mention being so thankful for you mother's support. That is just wonderful. My DH was my biggist supporter and he still is.

Congrats on your success...not too far from goal.

Yes! The support you get just makes everything flow so much easier and gives you that extra push you need sometimes. And thank you for the congrats! I never thought I'd be so close in just 7 months; hopefully I'm running down the home stretch now.

Yes, you've done an amazing job, Reverie. Just be careful not to have too great of expectations with that last weight to come off. Not to discourage you but plateaus do tend to set in with that last 20lbs:cursing:. Just mix up the exercise and food plan once a week or more and be patient. You cand do it.:)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
