Recommended Posts

I am having surgery 10/21 and would love to know if anyone else is as well. This is my 3rd time scheduling and the last 2 were cancelled due to illness. NOT THIS TIME! I am feeling lots of emotions but mostly really excited!

I am getting banded on the 21st. I am so nervous. I have changed my mind several times!!!!! But I guess I have to go through with it. I am most concerened with how my life will change afterwards. I love to cook for my family. What if I have no desire to cook anymore. UGG. I am also a low bmi 37. What I It takes me 5 years to lose 60 pounds. I will be very upset....

The 1st time I was scheduled I felt like I had multiple personalities I was so all over the place. "This is going to be great..what in the h*&! am I doing...you know you cant do this on your own....why in the h!@* can't I do this on my own?!"

Now I am decided and know it is the right thing for me. My only fear (although a big one) is not waking up. Once I wake up I know I can do this.

I understand the mixed feelings though. I had my pre-op appt with the surgery center yesterday and have to admit to feeling a little sad. I felt sad that I really was admitting to myself I could not do it on my own. Really admitting it for the last time. So I let that stew a little in my head and moved on. Now I am feeling great thinking of the life ahead of me!

I also worry what if I take forever to loose. The reality- I could be down just ? pounds in a year or up. I know I will keep gaining.

I am feeling 90% excited and happy and 10% the other stuff.

I would love to keep an eye on each other to see how we are doing!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
