Anyone out there?!!?

Recommended Posts

I just talked to my surgeon's office today. It looks like as long as I get done my nutritionist appointments and have my psych eval by the end of October, I should be able to have surgery in December!

I specifically asked to have it then because I work at a school. I think it would be better to use my given time off, instead of just picking random times off. I'd rather have it before the New year. Big changes for the new year :rolleyes2: And, lastly. I could easily wait until April for Spring Break.. but with the expected nicer weather I'd rather not. Not to mention having to wait EVEN longer B) The wait now is killing me.

Anyway... anyone ?!?! lol

Well I've gotten all my clearances and I am awaiting approval from my Ins company (Aetna). But I have a tentative date of 12/20!! So that makes me a December 2010 bandster!! Yay! I haven't told anyone but my wife. I don't even think I'll tell my kids yet because they are a bit too talkative to keep any secrets. LOL. I am super excited. I have started to do 2 shakes and one meal a day and have been doing that for the last 2 months. I am down 35lbs. So it looks like there are only 2 of us so far but I hope some more 12/10 bansters join us soon! Good Luck on the journey.

Me too!! No, not **DATE** yet but everything is moving fast. I should have the date by November. Because my surgeon office hasn't done their December schedule yet. I saw them Thursday everythig is on track for Mid/late December surgery. I haven't told anyone yet, only 4 people , (my sister, my brother, my best friend & close male friend). I'm not telling anyone until after I'm banded. How does everyone feel about telling people? I feel so ashamed of it. I don't know why.

Yayyyyyyyy! I'm glad there's finally some more December bandsters! I'm thrilled.

I called my doctors office this Friday, and the only thing I need to do right now is have my doctors submit my last two weights from July and August. And meet with the psych. YAY :)

I look forward to getting to know you guys! :D

Hey everyone! I finally got my approval letter from my insurance company. The letter said 12/6 but we'll see what my Dr says at my pre-op appointment on November 4th. I'll be happy with the 6th just because I don't feel like having it before Thanksgiving. LOL! Looking forward to getting to know everyone! :)

Well, hi everyone! I guess I should stand over here with all of you. And I am SO glad to finally be here!

As of today, I'm penciled in for surgery December 6th. Everything is done except for a consult with a specialty surgeon who assists my regular surgeon during bandings. (He's the hernia guy - I have both a hiatal hernia and an umbilical hernia they'll be repairing.) My insurance (Tricare) reports my surgery approval is "Pending Review" which I'm told means it's a done deal, once they look over all the supporting paperwork. So after reviewing everyone's schedule, we decided on December 6th as THE DAY!

UPDATE: As of this morning, 10/20/2010, I am officially APPROVED FOR SURGERY! My insurance carrier called, did a little phone interview, and approved me on the spot. Nice!

I'm so ready. Wishing all of you successful surgeries!

Dave

I have been approved and scheduled for surgery on December 9th. I'm excited but have recently become a little nervous as well as my date is fast approaching. I have only told my immediate family and my boss. I'm not sure if I will tell anyone else about this choice. I am most nervous about the 2 week pre-op diet - the will power needed to do that successfully. Wishing all other December bandsters well!! We CAN do it!

Hi guys! I don't have a date yet but I'm thinking it will be December. The reception said it's usually about a month after the consult, which is Oct. 29th. biggrin.gif

I don't have a date yet. I go for my 5th month of monitored diet this week. And then my last one end on November. I have 98% of my requirements done, so I should hopefully have my surgery mid December. My sister is getting married next November and I am going to be a bridesmaid, so I really want to have a lot of the weight off by then. I know it will not be all of it, but I am hoping I will be able to look OK. Because right now, I am terrified to have to wear a dress. I keep telling my sister that is going to be her wedding gift, me in a dress....LOL. I have not worn even a skirt in like 10.5 years.

Well, I am hoping to be banded in December 2010. I was hoping to be banded in November since I started this procedure in July 2010. I did not have to do the six month weigh in with my primary care physician. I attended the informational seminary in August 2010. However, I didn't get an appointment with my surgeon until October 6, 2010. Well, after meeting him it was determine that I had to see the psychiatrist and pulmonary doctor. I actually visit the nutritionist prior to having the consultation with the doctor. My pulomary appointment is November 4. The psychiatrist is schedule for November 16. I am hoping that my insurance company can turn it around in a couple weeks.. I have to have this surgery this year.

I tried to create a social groups for us December Banded but I am not for certain that it worked.. :sneaky:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
