Could a person eat pizza if they cut it into very very small bites? Also my Dr. told me that I could never eat streak again, but what if a person put a few picses in a blender with some a-1 sauce, wouldn't that work.

I've had both and been ok! 1 slice of pizza.. didn't finish it. But did use a fork and knife and take very small bites. And had a couple of small bites of my honey's filet the other night... it was so perfect- melted in my mouth! I can see a tougher steak being a problem but if it's a really nice cut and cooked well it shouldn't be too hard to chew well...

I can eat pizza if the crust is very thin. On the steak, my doc said a moist cut, like rib-eye would be okay sometimes. I've had a few bites of steak, but wouldn't consider ordering one if we went out.

I've had both just fine! But I take small bites of each and chew! And thin crust pizza is the way to go if you want pizza.

I was also told that popcorn would be off limits but read on this site where alot of people still eat pop corn.< /p>

I can still eat popcorn! It actually fills me up quickly, and it seems to keep me full too.

I hate to be a party pooper but I would say listen to your surgeon. Your surgeon has intimate knowledge of your stomach, your band and your progress. I would be too scared too go against my doctor's advice. Who knows? I haven't been banded yet, so I might be on here in a couple of months asking the same question, but as of right now, I feel like following your doctor's rules is best - whatever they might be!

Best wishes!

I have been able to eat both pizza and steak with no problem. But I know I have been lucky in that I have not had anything stick and have yet to have to have a fill. Good luck.

It's not that you can't have them, it's because they are the foods that are most likely to cause sticking. As stated by others as long as you chew, chew, chew, you MAY be able to tolerate these foods. If not, stay away from them.

My doctor told me that there is absolutely nothing that we can't have post-band if it is chewed really well. He said to listen to your body. Your stomach will tell you if you personally can pass a certain food or not.

Some people will find after banding that they just can't tolerate bread and steak but that hasn't been the case for me. I can eat steak in small bites with BBQ Sauce and pizza just fine. I take small bites and chew really well.

The only big no no according to my surgeon is carbonation.

It would also depend on how much restriction you have.

My band is now empty and strangely enough I had steak for lunch and pizza for dinner. Not my normal intake I hasten to add but 2 social events in one day :-)

I would say the use of the word 'never' by your doc is a bit of over kill.

Good luck.

I had a slice of pizza for supper last night. No problems what so ever. I haven't tried steak yet. I have had some beef fajitas, but I chewed, chewed, and then chewed some more.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
