November bandsters unite!!

I just got over here yesterday and am thrilled to find great support and so much information!

My date is set for November 11. I actually could have done it sooner, but being a teacher, it was better for me to do it during a holiday weekend so I don't have to use up another sick day.

Anyway, if anyone else out there is scheduled for November, please come join here!! Let's do this journey together!

Hi Everyone! I was in the October board but I think I'm looking at a November date now. My surgeon only does his surgeries on Tuesdays. My paperwork will be submitted to insurance tomorrow and i figure to give it a week or so for approval, then I have to do my two week diet. So I'm really hoping for November 2nd! I have United Health Choice Plus and didn't have too many requirements. I didn't have to have any 6 month diet or history to submit so that was nice. I started this process on 8/21 and today I finished everything I was supposed to do (which it was the upper GI today). So, I figured I would join over here since it's most likely going to be November for me. My name is Amanda. I'm married to my husband for a little over 2 years, David. I have two girls. Serenity is 4 and Scarlett is almost 6 months. I'm 25 years old and I'm SO ready to get this done!! I wish you all the best and look forward to sharing our experiences! :tongue2:

Just a quick pop in to say hi to all and welcome the newbies to our November group!

I went this weekend and bought my Muscle Milk Light, fat free chocolate pudding, and Carnation Instant Breakfast. The puddings and CIB were on sale, so I stocked up for my pre-op diet which starts Nov 1!

Have a great night all!

Just got the phone call this morning from the Surgeons office. My surgery has been scheduled for 11-1-10!!! Had my nutritional counseling was yesterday. So I just a little over three weeks out from surgery!!!

Jguttery, my surgery is two days after yours.. even though its a month away i am still freaking out a little. Good thing is the doctor said that i have no pre-op diet, I just have to drink clear liquids the day before.

The pre-surgery diet shouldn't be too hard for me..... it's going to be the weeks 3 and 4 with the pureed meats that are going to kill be. I keeps thinking of the smell of baby food, ugghhh!!!!

The nurse said I will definitely be a November bandster but the date is still to be set. I am hoping for earlier in November, but we'll see!!!

Woohoo! We're growing in numbers. I hafta go for my upper endoscopy (I hope I spelled that right) next wednesday and am a bit nervous about that. Other than my weight Im pretty healthy and havent had any major proceedures like that. Anyone else have to do this?

Also I have to do a 3 week liquid diet starting the 21st. My husband will be out to sea, and my daughter is only 10 months so pretty easy to please, so Im not worried about the will power, just dont want to feel hungry. Any tips?

:lol:I just got my surgery date yesterday!!!!! November 3!!! Wow that was fast, Im so excited and nervous all at the same time!! Started my pre op diet today!!! A little hungry but sooooo motivated!

I went in today for my final visit for my 3 month history. Now they have all the information and will be submitting it to my insurance company within a few days. They have changed my tenative date from Nov 15th to Nov 1st. I am hoping that everything still goes through smoothly. I am very excited and very anxious at the same time. I'm lucky I don't have a long pre-op diet but I do have the liquid diet for 3 days before surgery. That means Halloween weekend I will be on liquids only. I hope I have the willpower. I think I do.

Just saying hello to very everyone—I hope everyone who is at the beginning of the month comes back here after your surgery and post how it’s going.

Monday I went for my chest x-ray and my upper GI tests. Yuk is all I can say about drinking barium. But make everything seem so real now. I start my pre-op diet the 3rd. I figure if I make it through that everything else will be a breeze. Nov 11th is my final consult and preadmissions at the hospital. I put in for 14 day vacation at work I hope that is enough time, to feel good enough to come back. I have not told anyone at work what I’m doing; just don’t want people to know my business just yet.

I just got all the paper work from the doctor about all the pre op things that need to be done like within 3 weeks from the surgery. I have to go get blood work, and ekg, and i think like five other things. I keep delaying it because I hate needles and seeing blood drawn. I just gotta sick it up and go.

I just got over here yesterday and am thrilled to find great support and so much information!

Hello, I am a school counselor and I'm getting banded on Nov. 23. I was going to have it today but didn't want to take off any more days. I had an abnormal EKG and had an ultrasound on my heart today. I have to go back next week for a stress test. I am getting excited!! I am a little tired of people at the hospital telling me that I'm too small to get the lapband. They are so supposed to be professionals. I am 5'5' and weigh 215. I have sleep apenea, HBP, high cholestrial, low iron, low calcium, low energy, and heavy for me. This journey is an individual one. When I attended the lapband class, everyone asked me Why are you here? I was shocked. Well, I'm getting this done no matter what to become a healthy new me.
